It kept me fully dry, but up at 11K feet on a snowy windy morning it got pretty cold, I had 3 thermals and a t-shirt on that kept me warm in non-gusting conditions. Where the zipper stopped kind of was uncomfortably jabbing me in the neck and face when I had it fully zipped. I'm 6'4" and the large was a little smaller than I would have liked for the whole snowboarder look.
