These shoes are the jam, they kill it. They are the minimalist and they make you look good. They are lightweight and supportive. la sportiva knows what they are doing and you cant really go wrong with the slingshot, whether you are hightailing it up slippery ridge line, running on a trail, walking on the treadmill, these shoes win over all others hands down. I've had salomons, newbalance, north face, montrail (makes a great runner up) etc etc and none of them compare.
