I actually own a bern brentwood & think bern makes great helmets. I just wanted to leave a comment here related to "anonymous'" posting... you need to be careful- & it's bern's fault for making it confusing. Bern Brentwood is made of zipmold & meets multiple safety standards. Bern Macon (& baker) come in two versions: EPS & Brock foam. EPS version meets all the safety standards but the Brock foam does not. Any Macon or Baker made of Brock foam is/should be labeled "hard hat" & not helmet. So, depending on which version you pick up in the store to try/look at..you may see stickers saying it does meet x standards...or it does not meet x standards. Anyways, don't be too quick on knocking or dismissing this brand/model. Great product, great cust service..just buy the right thing for you.

Haven't had a chance to use it in the winter yet..but on first impression, there's a rubber O ring when you detach the hose from the pack that comes off very easily. Luckily i noticed it the first time I took it off, & found that it has fallen off subsequent times. The bladder & hose is made by nalgene. This may explain why a few others have noted leaks with their nalgene bladders/packs. They should include a big warning with multiple extra O rings because it's easy to fall off.

Not Surprising given the various reviews on timbuk2 bags. Well made, seems durable. Attention to detail- metal buckles, reflective tags, shoulder strap padding, multiple pockets. Cushy laptop padding, waist stablizer strap. It's a decent size although I thought it would be bit bigger. The actual color is a little darker than in the picture. In fact, the brown & green panels are not as easy to distinguish in low light as it appears in the pictures. The fabric feels like broken in canvas..so it's nice- soft yet feels tough. The inside is lined & the laptop slip is soft cordouroy. Overall great bag. It's a more yuppy version i think than the classic messenger bag which i've heard people use as a cooler by putting in ice & beer. You wouldn't want to do that with this bag.

I've got a size L & it fits me perfect & i love this helmet. Lightweight, looks good, well made, good for multiple sports- summer & winter. I bought one for my dad size XXL & it's too small. I measured his head & it fits right between the size chart for XXL but unfortunately it's too small. Might be his head..but just be aware.

This is a real nice bag..just what i expected. Fairly compact, fits the board pretty snug, nice room for boots, helmet (tightly) & from pocket for goggles & tools. backpack straps are real nice. Only has padding on base of bag which is enough for storage, transport to & in car. Probably want to add your own padding if travelling by air...but the advantage of less padding is it's more compact & can zip around on public buses & trains easily. strong zippers to mention. the only negative thing i have to say is i find the backpack straps aren't perfectly symmetrical..so when i'm walking, the bags sits on an angle across my back. Probably just a minor defect on my bag..i probably have a case for an exchange; but don't really want to fuss with sending it back. So..i assume this is only on my bag.
