Perfect All Weather Jacket
11-27-07 ![]() |
Hands down the most versatile jacket I own, definitely stands up to the tests I've given it and the price it carries. The 300 weight fleece is the heaviest of the fleece lines for North Face and the water wicking fleece fabric comes in handy when you get caught in a light drizzle. The reinforced nylon shoulders protect your jacket from carrying around a backpack or shoulder bag. The 2007 Denali line for women has improved so much since it's older counterparts. TNF lost the pit zips and cut the jacket slimmer. It keeps you very warm without holding in sweat and is the jacket to buy if you have to buy only one fleece. For those who want a less expensive but similar type jacket. The North Face Khumbu or Pumori would be the next obvious choice. |

Versatile Windstopping Jacket
11-26-07 ![]() |
My boyfriend bought this and I was skeptical at first at how much it would keep him warm and the money he dropped to buy it. I must say, I'm impressed. The windstopping material cuts the wind and somehow the material keeps him warm in 40 to 50 F degree weather. Layering it with a hoodie or track jacket underneath would be very effective for those guys opting out of the bulky winter jacket look. Does a great job of keeping light drizzle out. However, for a lesser priced jacket, the North Face Apex Bionic you can get almost the same thing. The North Face Pamir would also work if you are looking for more of a fleece type jacket with windproofing rather than this soft shell type jacket. |

Nice light versatile track jacket

Not a best seller of the North Face fleece line but holds up its own with its breatheable stretchy TKA fabric and hood. You wouldnt think the hood would come in handy but it definitley does when you happen to be out running in the hills. This jacket doesnt deliver the same results as the north face momentum and is really light but still works as a nice spring or summer time jacket. Careful when you order because of the sizing. It's a performance fit so you want to size down to avoid getting the gap between you and the jacket which wind can easily flow through. |

Functional but trendy mid-layer
11-26-07 ![]() |
With just about everyone you see with the Denali, the khumbu is just what the consumer wants for comfort and warmth without the heavy price tag. It's only a 200 weight fleece so you wont be getting the warmth of the 300 weight denali but it's pretty darn close. The new 2007 khumbu is redesigned with a better cut for women and a less bulkier collar. It has a fitted look that can be tightened with the draw string cords in the bottom hem and that adds to keeping you warm and toasty when it starts to get chilly. I wore this to a beach volleyball game in San Francisco and it didn't keep out the wind as much as I hoped but it's only polartec fleece and not windstopper. Adding a shell or layering a long sleeve underneath will keep you plenty toasty in 40 degree F. It's perfect for Nor Cal spring, chilly summer nights and even mild fall weather. Love it! |

perfect light shell or rain jacket
08-20-08 ![]() |
classic. from north face comes the venture jacket- a highly water resistent/proof jacket that works as a rain jacket or as a shell you can layer a 200 or 100 weight fleece in such as the khumbu or natasha from the north face line. living in the northern california where rain has been scarce the past few years, i thought i'd update my north face collection by adding this wonderful jacket when i head down to santa barbara in the fall. The material packs down really tightly so you can stash it in a backpack on a hike to the mountains or throw it in a locker for a rainy day. |

Nice Track Jacket with HOOD
08-20-08 ![]() |
leave it up to the guys at north face to update a few favorites in their line. The new and improved 2008 version of the North Face warp rates much higher in my book. The elastic cuffs on the arm band are an improvement and the overal cut flatters a woman's figure much better. This jacket is meant to act as a track jacket- a stretchy material with an ATTACHED hood that would work great on a warm spring day, layered under a heavier duty fleece or jacket it would work miracles-- or at least come close :) a similar jacket- the north face momentum would be the essentially the same jacket WITHOUT a hood if that's what you're looking for. |

Performance but stylish Fleece
11-26-07 ![]() |
The North Face Momentum is perfect for those early morning runs where any other bulky sweatshirt just wouldn't cut it. The streamlined design and low profile look compliments almost every figure and the heavy duty main zipper is easy to use even with gloves on. The momentum works under a shell for snowboarding, alone just as a updated looking outer layer and just about anywhere in between. It's TKA fleece so it's not meant to block wind but it does its job of packing up really tightly considering it's from the flight series. Buy this jacket if you want a functional track jacket type but can't sacrifice quality-- for this price, the investment is definately worth it. |

Stiff, windstopper with bulky arms
11-26-07 ![]() |
This is a disspointment from my favorite North Face line. I already own 4 other TNF products and this is the one in the back of my closet. It has an effective windstopping material with the apex fabric but the arms are very bulky and then slim down dramatically towards the wrists so you look lik you have very broad shoulders. Doesn't keep you warm at all in cold weather under 60 degrees F. Has a nice cut with it being longer in the back and higher in the front but i wouldn't recommend this if you want a streamlined windstopper jacket. I would go with the North Face Pamir for that-- a lot more expensive but you are getting way more with that jacket. |
