Used this rack all season and it has worked great. The most I ever had in it was 4 pairs of skis, possibly would fit 5 but I'd say 6 is a bit optimistic. Maybe 6 pair of skis from the 80's would fit. I bought this rack because it has locks and they have not disappointed me. I think once they almost froze but I was able to unlock them anyways. When you see Thule and Yakima racks at 2x the cost it's a no brainer.
