forget long underwear, these are super long and comfy, so you can get away with them even on cold days and they really do stay pretty damn dry. previous to these shorts i can say i have never owned any baselayer bottom that had ever really stayed dry throughout the day. but with these, even after a day riding deep powder, you can take off your pants and rock the shorts for the drive home without feeling like you just got out of a pool. go with the bigger size if you are torn between two if you like a looser, baggier fit like i do; i wear a 34 waist and the xl is perfect.
