Still a 4   03-30-08

Ok, I'm updating my last review. I skied a day with a bunch of fresh snow and these boards shined! They were quick enough yet stable in the fluff. They floated well, though I did find them diving a few times. I think this had more to do with my current poor conditioning than it did the skis. I'm keeping them at a 4, though, as the few turns I made on HARD hard pack were a bit challenging. Overall, though, these are a great ski especially on a new snow day.

Reserving some judgment   03-27-08

Well, I had one day on these and it was a mediocre day. Off-piste the conditions were about 3 inches of Cascade concrete on top of crud. The groomers were kind of sketchy, or maybe it was the skis? I found myself having a hard time initiating turns on the groomers. It almost seemed like the tips & tails needed a 1 degree bevel. That said, there were a few areas where the snow was softer than other areas, and the skis shined there. They also did well in the "powder" that I encountered, though I don't think I had the right conditions to give them the true test. I'm giving them a 4 just because I think they'll do great in the conditions for which they were designed, which is soft groomed and off-piste and powder. I might update the review after this coming Friday, though, as there is supposed to be a ton of new snow.

Great for the water   07-08-08

I bought these on a whim and am pretty happy. They're my first Oakleys. I'd give a 5 but they're really more for medium sized faces as opposed to "medium to large" as the site suggests. I spent a couple days on a jet ski last weekend, though, and the lenses gave me great, glare-free vision on the water. I took a spill, too, and they stayed on my face with no problem. This might be because they're slightly small for me, but really pretty comfy considering the size issue. I would not recommend these for driving, though, as they block peripheral vision quite a bit. This is a positive when on the water or snow as they block light from the side, but on the road it hinders one's view to the side. I'd recommend these to anyone looking for a good, polarized sunglass for sporting use.
