Great Tent by Big Agnes

I have been looking for a lightweight three person tent for backpacking with my family for awhile. When I saw the deal on this I was very excited, but concerned at first since there were no reviews at the time, and I could not find one piece of information online about this tent. I contacted the site and was assured a lifetime satisfaction guarantee which is great. I also contacted big agnes directly to get some more information about the tent since I could not find it in any of their materials. They let me know this tent was made exclusively for the site. They also sent me a number of additional photos and assured me it was covered by their lifetime warranty as well. The service from both companies was exceptional and convinced me to give it a try. Its off season for me right now, so I only got to try it out in my backyard once, but so far I am happy. It was a little bulkier to pack than I hoped, but its hard to avoid in a three person tent. The odd shape of other super light tents, doesn't make them very comfortable for 3 people. The square footprint was just what I wanted and we all fit fine. The tent features quality construction and a lot of extras with this deal like the footprint and gear loft. I was concerned about ventilation at first, but the fly stakes out enough at the sides to ensure enough airflow to avoid condensation. I think this tent is a great deal, and highly recommend it. |

Love Big Agnes, just not this pad

I returned mine. I bought an insulated air core and this one since the aircore was in limited stock. I liked the brass valve on this pad, and its durable feel, but the tubes were larger, and spaced more on this pad than the insulated air core. For me, laying on it felt a lot more uneven and I couldn't get comfortable. The insulated aircore on the other hand, is exceptional. A larger number of smaller, and closer tubes felt a lot more even and more comfortable. |
