Toko T8 Wax Iron - 800W    This product is no longer available

if you're serious...   10-29-07

if you know how important a good wax job is and how much easier it is to get it done right with a nice iron is, then you'll want to pick up this iron. i haven't had any problems with it and it's been used A LOT! the heating surface is very consistant and seems to be pretty durable as far as scratching or knicks.

Swix White Nylon Coarse Brush    This product is no longer available

yet another essential...   11-01-07

there's six things that all skiers need to keep their skis working like new or better. this is one of them. if you wax and scrape your skis without brushing them, the fresh cote of perfectly flat wax will act like a suction cup on the snow. brushes will take off the wax that the scraper didn't get and make for a super fast base. of the many many brushes that i've used, this is among the best in my opinion. good strength in the bristles, good durability, nice length of bristles, and i like the nylon. if you can, pick up the brass version of this and a nice horse hair brush as well to round out your brush set. if you can't pick this one for the all around, do everything brush.

if you really, really, really need to go fast....   10-29-07

if you really need to go fast, high fluoros are the way to go. a warning though, these need to be used in conjuction with regular waxing with hydrocarbon waxes because the fluoros can dry your base out. they're super fast but high maintanance. very fun and worth the dime!

wow...   11-05-07

These shoes are the most comfortable pair of shoes I can remember ever wearing! They look great too and although I haven't put many miles on them, they seem as though they'll hold up very well.

Swix Gummy Stone    This product is no longer available

pretty vital for saving files and faces   11-01-07

don't use this after tuning, use it first to take out the burs and knicks you've picked up throughout the day. after you're done fine tuning your edges to a razor sharp piece of metal with your file, guide and diamond stone, de-tune the tip and tail so you can initiate and finish the turn. if you don't de-tune the tip and tail you won't be able to do either easily and you'll feel like you're skills have gone downhill instead of you. this is an essential piece of tuning gear!

not so necessary but very nice   10-29-07

you don't NEED this one for burs or anything but it certainly cleans up a close to perfect edge and makes for razor like precision. these are a must have for anyone serious about keeping edges as nice as possible.

As durable as me   10-04-07

I've had this jacket for about 8 years, if I'm remembering right, and it's been nothing short of awesome to me. Always warm, super durable and style that keeps working through the years. I used to bash gates with this coat and it developed a couple of rips on the forearms and upper arm area but they never spread and haven't leaked much of the down. If you're looking for a warm jacket to keep for a long time, you've found it.

the best kind   10-29-07

these are the best kind of bevel you can get but they take a little getting used to. two degrees is plenty of angle for skiing on anything i have ever encountered, including courses all over the U.S., at least for alpine aplications. i can't speak to x-country.
