I purchased these to wear underneath my shin-knee pads that I wear while riding Muni. (Mountain Unicycling) I was getting chafing from the straps at the top of my legs. These solved the problem completely. No more chafing. I was a bit concerned with wearing "knee warmers" during the warm weather, because who needs more clothing on when it's hot out. But, that was not an issue. They are made out of a wicking type fabric, so they are actually quite comfortable. One other point, my wife thought that I looked "pretty hot" wearing them with my biking shorts. Her actual quote was, "What are you wearing, ooh baby you look pretty hot in those"
