The R1 Flash is probably my most-worn article of clothing. It's great over medium capilene with a shell on top for shredding on the hill, or even by itself for nordic skiing. I also use it over a t-shirt for cooler summer nights and wearing to class, etc. Also great for backpacking because it's so ridiculously compressible. If you want a fleece to wear alone in the winter, opt for something a little heavier, but the R1 is surprisingly warm, and extremely versatile.

This is another stellar product from BD. It isn't huge, but that's the point- it's the perfect size for moving quickly. I have used mine for multi-pitch climbs and am very pleased with the fit. It sits high above a harness and your shoulders have plenty of space to move. I also like this pack for overnights, it fits a sleeping bag, pad, stove+ food, a couple layers and then rides comfortably for however long you hike. Bottom line: BD called it the Speed for a reason.

I got one of these bad boys to replace an older model of the Bell Influx (a helmet I liked a lot) after I crashed on it. I've been extremely happy with it thus far. It ventilates like crazy and looks pretty sick too. I went for the bright green color scheme, which doesn't seem to be available this season. Bummer.

The Retro-X is a superb casual fall/winter jacket. It has very thick piling and the Windstopper barrier is excellent. Mine is a size larger than I would normally wear (Med. instead of Sm.) so that I can use it as a jacket over a sweatshirt or other bulky garment. It wouldn't be my first choice for any sort of hike or other strenuous activity, as it isn't very breathable, but it is perfect for around town/hanging out. And...Patagonia comes out with new color options every year so check out older seasons if you don't see one you like from the newest season.

Since I picked up a pair of these i've become a huge fan. I've used my pair for everything from marathon-length hikes to casual trail running. I've never had any issues with fit either, which is a rarity with my feet. The support is more than adequate, the lacing system is foolproof (i'm qualified to say this) and they feel great on your feet even after a long day of effort. Also, the regular (non GTX) version is more breathable and dries much more quickly, which is a boon for situations like long, lightweight, multi-day hikes where getting wet is inevitable but getting dry is necessary.

These things are bomber. The fit can be a bit finicky, but once you get it dialed they work really well. The strap underneath can be reinforced with a bit of webbing- just slip it over the strap and replace as needed.

All around good mitts for winter pursuits. I used an older version for for 3 or 4 seasons before they started to thin out and get chilly. The features are excellent and the nose-wipe works great. I especially liked the length of them, having bigger mitts is great for keepin the white stuff outside of your layers..

This is my go to layer for high-speed winter pursuits. Works great as a light fleece for the summer/shoulder seasons as well, and is super compressible to boot. Good for backpacking, good for wearing to class...All in all an extremely versatile and comfortable layer. If you're looking for sheer warmth, go up a weight or two, but for all around performance and breathability this piece is a good choice.

These pants are the bees knees. They fit really well and the design features are spot on (reinforced cuff, side zippers, etc). The new Pro Shell fabric works super well too; it's the most breathable hard shell i've worn. Overall, i'm really pleased with them.

These shorts are super comfortable. I'm pretty skinny and they seem to fit really well. My other shorts sometimes ride up a bit, but these are cut narrow and I don't have that problem. They are a bit pricey, but the chamois is great and they are very well designed.

Well, they look super fast, which can become a problem when you just want to wear them around town. They don't fog easily, the optics are good, and the Zebra lenses adjust quickly and to an appropriate darkness. The strap also works very well. It's great for nordic skiing or technical trail runs... If you have a smaller face they tend to look pretty aggressive, but hey, it works...

The perfect flannel shirt. It's super heavy-weight flannel that keeps you cozy year round. Get one and expect compliments.

Perfect for ski mountaineering or as a backup tool. I chose it over the couple of iterations of the Raven series simply because it has a replaceable blade. It is well balanced and a perfect all-around winter climbing/hiking tool. The included leash is a nice touch but I prefer to have the freedom to switch hands when necessary...

I got into UA stuff playing lacrosse in high school. Since then it's steadily worked its way into my outdoor pursuits. These are excellent for high intensity activities and work better than anything else i've ever worn to prevent chafing. Just make sure to mark yours so no one steals them by accident

I had a pair of these I used for about a year. I generally liked them and the waterproofing was excellent. However, I ran into problems with the soles- the grippy nobs started coming off, exposing the midsole underneath. They are also quite wide, so they work best for high volume feet. Generally they were good shoes, but i've since switched to Salomon shoes which thus far have been more durable and fit my (narrow-ish) feet a bit better.

Really happy with these bindings. I got a pair (07 I think) recently when I got a new board. They are a huge improvement both in looks and function over older models (which I liked as well. I got the black color, but kinda wish I'd gone for yellow - so ace. I use them on just about every type of terrain possible and have been very pleased with their performance all around.

Really super hanging out shorts. They are comfortable and the fit is great - only issue is this season's colors which are kinda lackluster. The one time I played golf this summer I wore these and had a blast. They're versatile because they can be worn to somewhat formal events, as well as just chilling around the campfire.

It seems to work great, though sometimes I get confused - the belt holds up the pants, and the belt loops hold up the belt...Who's the real hero? Answer: The guy with the bottle opener.

Big fan of this jacket. Great for hanging out/chopping wood/checkin' out surf spots...Just a point of clarification: it is a lined, flannel jacket. not a flannel-lined jacket. not that it matters...it's still great. Sizing: pretty loose
