The Highlander is a great, versatile pack. I use it both as a lumbar pack and as a shoulder pack. It is very comfortable to wear using either the removable waist belt or contoured shoulder strap. Lots of divided storage space to hold everything you'd need during the day and then some. It's a little pricey, but you do get Marmot quality and durability. The Highlander might be a bit too big as a lumbar pack for smaller sized individuals. Take a look at the Walkabout.
