Bighorn

I have used this bag heavily over the last two summers and have been extremely pleased with its performance so far. I purchased this bag for summer archaeological field seasons in Wyoming. Being only 5'11" and 165, this over-sized bag is a little large for me, but I got it because I knew that after a long day of survey work I would want a bag that I could stretch out in. The North Face Bighorn is perfect for that--giving the user more room around the feet and chest, so you're not so restricted. It worked well in temperatures down 32 degrees, for colder nights I found myself throwing a fleece blanket over top and even stuffing my jacket down in the foot of the bag to take up some extra space. The bag is a little heavy compared to some other backpacking sleeping bags, but that is due to its larger size. Overall, after 4-5 months of sleeping in nothing but this bag it has proved itself quite durable, never any problems with zippers, heat loss, seems, or wear and tear. |
