MontBell America, Inc. Torrent Flier Jacket - Men's    Read other reviews of this product

Dry & super light, just as it should be!   08-10-07

i am 5'10" about 175 and this jacket (medium) fits great. enough room for layering when it's cold but fits close enough for backpacking in rain when it's 60 degrees. i have worn it through blackberry bushes, brush, trees etc and the material is tough, no tears, scratches etc. packs small and the pit zips are huge for great ventilation. best part about it, the hood sucks against your head so when you turn your head you're not looking at the inside of the hood, it moves with you. great jacket!

Patagonia Micro Puff Pullover - Men's    Read other reviews of this product

super light, super warm   05-29-07

packs really small, weighs almost nothing, only concern is the outer material doesn't seem that strong but patagonias warranty is great so no worries.

Therm-a-Rest ProLite 4 Sleeping Pad    This product is no longer available

first time i've slept in 15 years   05-12-07

packs smaller than anything else on the market of comparable quality. super light and the slight non slip is much appreciated. don't buy the optional stuff sack, it will rip... pad is awesome!

Black Diamond Firstlight Tent 2-Person 3-Season    This product is no longer available

crazy light and packs small but problems!   07-23-08

used this tent twice; first time in the snow around 6,000' and 30 degree temp. i left the window as well as the door unzipped about six inches hopeing there would be enough air flow so there wouldn't be any moisture in the morning on the inside of the tent. no luck. the walls were as wet as the outside (rain/snow off and on throughout the night). second time around 6,500' with temp around 50 degrees. no rain that night but plenty of condensation inside the tent (i would have slept under the stars but the mosquitos were killers). ALSO - i am about 5'10" and i have to sleep diagonal and the end of my 6' sleeping bag touches the bottom corner. unless you're shorter than 5'9" and aren't concerned about moisture on the inside of the tent in the morning, i would not buy this tent. crazy light but just not worth being cramped and wet.
