This pack is definitely for ultra-lighters. I carry a base weight of just over 10 pounds and have used this pack on numerous weekend trips. I have to say I have bought a few ultralight packs and this has to be my favorite for weekend trips. Have to finesse it a little to frame it out and are pretty much stuck to using a blue CCF pad due to needing the rigidity to make a frame but it works out great. When framed out with pad everything goes in the middle and you just conform your stuff sacks to your back. Holds all my gear well although I would not use it for more than a 3 day trip due to size for food. Must say though, its my new favorite pack. Would recommend to anyone serious about lightweight hiking as it weighs in at a whole 1lb 2oz. yet still has room for your stuff.
