While these poles are pretty sweet, and light, the problem i had with them was getting used to the 'tab system.' that little yellow tab goes over the gap between your thumb and index finger, and it's a little difficult to get them on and off if you want to grip your poles from the top (especially when skating). On the other hand, the tab kinda forces the pole backwards, so rather then having the pole perpendicular to the ground while holding it normally, it slants slightly at a backward angle. while this might be nice for racing, i recommend something without the tabs for someone who is freeriding (especially in moguls).
