Backcountry.com Prime Power Stretch Pant - Men's    Read other reviews of this product

Good Product   02-10-09

These pants/underwear are a good value. They are half the price of the Arc'Teryx Rho, (even better on SAC) but are made of the same material. While the Rho has a slighty better fit, I don't think it's worth paying twice the price for. Besides they are warm, no one sees them (well, usually) and you are just going to impact farts into it, so why pay double?

Trident Softshell Jacket   10-17-08

Just got mine in Pine; There's a white pin-stripe along the seam, up the arms to the back; it's on the back side so it's not seen in the picture (although one of the detail shots shows it.) The lining is a sort of short, felt-like material; same as my Sigma SV. It's warm, but makes it tough to slide on over some shirts. It has a drawcord at the waist. The arms seem a bit long, but I rather like that to keep covered when reaching. Myself, I didn't find it large around torso, but I'm getting a bit tubby in my old age (bought a large; I'm 6'0" 200lbs.) As with a lot of Arc'teryx stuff, I'm not sure it's worth paying full list price for, but at discount it's a good buy.

Oh, yeah   11-09-08

This is another really nice Arc'teryx product. I wear it has a base layer, and it's warm and comfortable. The material has good wind resistance and fair waterproofing, sort of a 'best of both worlds' compromise which means it does breathe well yet works for most activities. The material itself is a little strange in a good way; it feels a bit like like soft foam rubber. Thee torso length is long; it goes down almost to the middle of my butt. With a pack on, my lower back sweats where the hip belt rests, but I feel totally dry. If I place my hand there, I can feel how wet the shirt is - all of the moisture has been absorbed away from the skin. Full retail price is tough to take, but they go on sale once in a while, and then it's well worth it. I have two, so I'm convinced.

Arc'teryx Rho AR Top - Men's    Read other reviews of this product

Just bought my 2nd!   11-09-08

This is a great shirt. Very comfortable, soft against the skin and warm. The fit is snug, since it really is a baselayer. I wear it alone around town, not to show off (cause I'm a little pudgey) but because it's so comfy. Besides, the wife likes it, so it's a win-win situation. It keeps it's shape even after not washing it for several days. One of the detail pictures shows the sleeves with a strechy fabric at the wrists, but that must have been for an earlier model because the two I have don't have it - the sleeve is the same for the whole length except for just tapering down. The price is a little high, but did I mention how comfy it is?! Remember when you were in high school, and you had your favorite 'dirt-shirt' you wore all the time, which annoyed your mom and kept patching it up becaue you didn't want to get rid of it? I will catching up to Joey F soon!

Pearl Izumi Lebensstil Jacket - Men's    Read other reviews of this product

Good Jacket   11-06-08

It is form-fitting, but I like that so I can get a shell over it. The material in the sleeves is a bit slippery, as it allows you to put a baselayer shirt on; it doesn't make the sleeves ride up. The fleece thickness is a little more than what TNF would call 200 weight, that is it's a bit stiffer, but not overly so. The material is folded over at the zipper to protect your chin. Good windproofing, too. On S&C it was a great price, so much so I bought a different color when it came up again. I think Pearl Izumi has discontinued it though since it's not shown on their web site.

Good   04-19-09

Just received this, and have not tried it out on the water yet. However, the wrist gaskets fit really tight, to the point of almost cutting off circulation. I'm hoping they will open up a bit with use.
