Oakley A Frame Goggle    Read other reviews of this product

A-Frames (They have to be good, Shaun White wears 'em!)   10-24-08

First of all, these are Oakleys, so you can't go wrong. No fogging, great comfort, good quality, and of course good style. I own a pair of these and love them. The lens are crystal clear and you often forget you're wearing them. As for the lens tents, I have a persimmon lens which shows from the chart to allow 61% light through. These seem to be an all around tent for me. Even on the bright sunny days I can get by and the cloudy days work as well. I have an H.I. Yellow lens for cloudier days and night riding. Anything much darker than 61% would be tough on cloudy days, and anything that allows much more than 61% light would be an eye squinting experience on sunny days. To help those who are trying to decide between Crowbars, Wisdoms, and A-Frames hopefully I can help. First, the A-Frames tend to fit a medium to smaller face. They're definately the smallest of the three. Because of this they also have the least amount of peripherel vision when wearing them. However, if you're face is smaller you probably won't notice this anyways. The Crowbars and Wisdoms are made for the medium to larger faces. Both have a bigger field of view than the A-Frames but are slightly differently shaped. The Crowbars and A-frames have the typical goggle shape while the Wisdoms have more of a rounded shape towards the bottom. I find that the Crowbars fit tighter around your nose than the Wisdoms do. So if you have a bigger nose I would go with the Wisdoms. Either way, all three are great goggles, and better yet, if you order from here and they don't fit, you can send them back and change your order without any problem. These guys have GREAT customer service!

Smith Holt Skullcandy Audio Helmet    Read other reviews of this product

Smith Holt Audio   10-24-08

This helmet is awesome. First of all the sound system in it is great. Skullcandy makes some good speakers with awesome sound. For those new to an audio helmet the cord plugs into the bottom of your left earpiece and then about 10 inches down has volume control with a clip on it to attach to the top of your coat or shirt. From there the cord continues to plug into your i-pod or mp3 player. It just has a normal headphone jack along w/ a smaller jack for certain cell phones. As for the helmet itself, I can't complain. I use it mostly for snowboaring. It fits very comfortable and is light enough that I often forget I'm wearing it. It's comes with vents to keep your head from sweating to death but is warm enough that I rarely have to wear a beanie to keep my ear and head warm enough. As for size, just measure your head and go w/ what the size chart says, it's right on. One last thing with the speakers. At high speeds you may not be able to hear super well. Let's just say they aren't powerful enough to blow your eardrums, but plenty loud enough to hear unless you're half deaf already or going down the hill in a 40 mph head wind. I'm completely satisfied.

Smith Holt w/ Skullcandy Audio   09-13-08

I originally bought the black Smith Holt helmet by itself, then purchased the skullcandy audio kit for the thing and WOW! I'm impressed with everything. First off, the helmet is light. You forget you're wearing it, except for the fact that I now have tunes blastin as I'm boardin. But I've taken a few spills with, and without the helmet. One spill without, and I got a mild concussion. Then I bought this, two more bad wrecks with it on, and I bounced back up thanking myself I made such a good purchase.

Oakley In Focus   09-13-08

You want to stay dry, warm, and have a billion pockets? Then buy these. The In Focus pants are everything you could ask for. 15k waterproofing and fully taped seams. You could probably take these back to the hot tub at the hotel and still stay dry! One thing though, they seem to fit a bit short if you're a taller person. Theyre a regular fit, not baggy, and I'm 6 foot and the larges are ALMOST too short. If you want something a little longer look into the Oakley Behind Enemy Lines. But you can't go wrong with Oakley. They make an amazing product; Pants, Jackets, Goggles, they're all good!

Smith 2008 Holt Helmet    Read other reviews of this product

Smith Holt Helmet   10-24-08

As you can see, this helmet has a number of reviews with most of them 4 stars or better. That should speak for itself! But the Smith Holt is awesome. I use it to snowboard in and keep plenty warm with it on, finding only rare occasions that I have to slip on a beanie to keep my ears from getting too chilly. The thing is light as well. I often times forget I'm even wearing one. And I've also actually tested it out a few times, unfortuntately. It's taken a few beatings from rails and hard packed snow at high speeds and both my head and the helmet came out winners. If you don't mind spending a few more dollars and want to jam out while you ride I would advise getting the Audio version of this w/ the Skullcandy audio system in it. It's amazing. I originally bought this helmet and then upgraded to make mine into an audio helmet and love it! The sound is amazing. You can check my review on the audio version if that's you're route. But overall, you can't go wrong with this helmet. Great price, good quality, and no concussions. What more can you ask for?

Burton Cartel: The search ends here!   10-15-08

If you can afford them, don't the let high price tag scare you away. You won't regret buying these bindings. I first got to see them when my buddy bought some for a gift and was immediately impressed. The whole baseplate is completely padded which is something you don't normally see, but not only is is fully padded, but its freakin soft! The straps are also padded just as much, so cinching in tight is going to feel like you're strapping into a pillow. I was then 100% sold on them when my buddy bought a pair for himself and let me try them out. wow! I have a pair of Burton Customs and the Cartels made my Customs feel like I bought them at WalMart. The feel with the cushioning on the base, the super soft straps, and the toe cap is amazing. I plan on getting a pair myself or else stealing my friends! The Burton Cartel......comfort so soft, you may mistake it for a pillow.

Burton Hail   09-13-08

I've used these one full season, and being a boarder with a season pass, they've had plenty of use. I have only good things to say about this boot. I can ride all day without much a problem. They mold to the shape of your foot and keep them plenty warm. I just wear a pair of normal socks like I do with my shoes. My feet stay plenty warm and I dont have any problems with blisters. My buddy tried these on and was so impressed with how comfy they are, he ordered a pair as well. Definately a good buy.

This jacket RULES!!! I had it all last season and have yet to come across anything better. First, the powder skirt and the little cuffs on the sleeves keep any snow from getting in what so ever. Second, it has pockets pockets pockets! Goggles, water bottles, cameras, Ipod, SEASON PASS HOLDER, cell phone....ya, pretty sure all those fit and more. Buy this, you wont regret it! Did I mention the waterproofing? You'll stay dry as a bone!

Swix Cera Nova CH Wax    This product is no longer available

Swix CH Wax   10-23-08

If $11 bucks seems like too much to pay for wax then I'd take a second look at what Swix has to offer. They are a great company and have a number of top of the line products. Your board needs wax just like a car needs oil. No wax means your board drys out and the base will become damaged over time. Not to mention you won't be able to fly by your buddies anymore! Get this stuff, the size chart above tells exactly what wax to use for what temperature, and the case the wax comes in even shows what temperature to set your iron. You can easily get 3 waxings out of one block, and 4 if you apply it efficiently. Also, I'm a snowboarder, so just because the description talks about skiing, it's obviously made for both. If you're not sure how to wax your board, check out youtube, they have plenty of how to clips. Heres one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDRoKCAFtX8

Dakine Scraper   11-04-08

I don't know that a scraper really needs to be reviewed, but I guess in case you're curious, I have one of these and it works fine. I personally like the triangular shape, it's easier for me to hold, and fits more compact in storage. It also has the little groove on one of the sides to scrape the wax off the edge of your board.

Burton Gianni Beanie   11-04-08

I bought this for a gift and was disappointed in two things. First the thickness. It's not as warm as I thought it would be. The material is thinner than most beanies. Second is the size. It's a women's beanie and it seems to run pretty large for the typical head size of a woman. I tried it on and even dislike it's larger size. It does however have a cool design, but that's really the only thing in my opinion that is good about this thing.

Sector 9 Trylam Longboard   11-03-08

I just got my Sector 9 Trylam in and am totally impressed. The 38" deck is perfect to be long enough to cruise at high speeds but not too long to be annoying and in the way. This board is so fast! Our street has a tiny amount of slope to it, and with one push I can cruise the whole street with ease and speed. I also like the concave shape of the board. It makes me feel more in control and easier to turn. The flex is great as well, the board has a good amount of snap to it and the cambered deck makes it even nicer. Sector 9 makes the best longboards out there. Trust me, if you're looking into purchasing a longboard, you won't regret buying this one!

Oakley O Frame   11-03-08

These goggles are a great deal for any kid and for any adult who has a smaller face. With them currently on sale, $28 is a steal. They don't seem quite as durable or nice as the normal Oakley A-frames, but are still comfortable and won't fog up on you. My sister has a pair and has never complained once about them. They also fit with a helmet if you're the type who likes to keep your melon protected.

DC Hertz Jacket - Men's    Read other reviews of this product

DC Hertz Jacket   11-03-08

This jacket it a lot nicer than described. First off, it's twice as waterproof (10k not 5k) and it has a number of more pockets than stated as well. Along with the 2 hand pockets and media pocket as stated, it also includes another outside chest pocket and SIX more pockets on the inside! So you have storage for nearly everything you need. As far warmth, it is decently heavy and is fine for the normal ski/snowboard day. If the wind's up and the temp is in the sub zero's an additional sweatshirt or core layer is needed. But this is a good all around coat to keep you dry and warm. The powder skirt also includes buttons to snap to your pants, eliminating any possibility of snow getting in.

Swix Economy Wax Iron    Read other reviews of this product

Swix Iron   10-24-08

For the price that backcountryoutlet has for this thing, you can't wrong. My buddy and I got one and I love it. It has a temperature dial to take the guesswork out of how hot your iron is. The temperature dial shows 100, 120, and 140 degrees C. So you can pretty much know how hot the iron is. It also has a light to let you know when your desired temperature is reached. Lastly it has a decently thick base to iron with and keeps its temperature well. It takes forever to cool off. This is good though because I know it can stay at my desired temp. range longer and doesn't take much to heat it back up as I'm using it. It's a good buy if you're looking to be easy on your wallet! Swix is a great brand, you can't go wrong.

First of all, I love this shirt. It's very comfortable and suprising soft. I'm also a Forum fan and would agree that they make some pretty good stuff. I ride a forum board and love it. But onto the shirt. I hate to disagree with "mattwalford" on 3-15-08 and confuse people even more, but my shirt didn't shrink near that much. Yes it's a 100% cotton, but I would advise ordering your normal size you would in any other 100% cotton shirt. I am normally a large and that's what I ordered and it fits fine.

Burton Wheelie Locker    Read other reviews of this product

Go ahead, bring it with you, because it'll fit.   10-23-08

The Burton Wheelie Locker can hold every bit of your collection. Multiple boards, clothing, accessories, it's all going to fit. I tested it out first thing I got mine. I was able to fit in two boards (without bindings), a board with my bindings, two coats, two pairs of pants, boots, two pairs of gloves, two goggles, a beanie, iron, wax, scraper, and random tools. Did I mention there was room to spare?? The bag has multiple zipper pockets inside with mesh lining, two removeable bags for your boots/bindings, a small bag for your goggles, a tool bag, place for your season pass, and some super smooth wheels to take it through the airport with style. Also, I have a size 156 bag and ride a 158 board, and it still fits. It's snug, but it fits. One thing some people may not be aware of is that the bag condenses down in size when not in use due to the fact it has no hard backbone. So your snowboard is what keeps it from bending in half when it's in the bag therefore meaning your board is the backbone of the thing. 4 stars because you can only use this bag if you have plenty of room. After all it is meant to take EVERYTHING. So it might be a challenge fitting it into a smaller compact car.

Sessions Movement, hop on board!   10-15-08

I bought a pair of these pants for my brother. He wanted a good deal and didn't want to spend too much money. I didn't think I agreed with his purchase but kept quiet and am glad I did because I was wrong. These things are the bomb! He let me try them out and wow! I've worn Burton, and Oakley pants and love them. But let me tell you, Sessions is right up there with them. These pants have a mother load of pockets, and a whopping 4 vents (2 on each leg) for those not so cold days. The fit is slightly baggy, but fits just about true to the size you would normally wear. Warm, comfortable, o so soft, and 10k waterproofing so you're staying dry. Get 'em, you won't regret.

Go ahead, take it along, cuz it'll fit!   09-21-08

The Burton Wheelie locker holds it all. Multiple boards (one can have bindings attached), boots, bindings, pants, coat, waxing iron, gloves, etc. This thing has multiple pockets inside and out and even comes with a tool set pocket and a handy little place for your season pass. I have the 156 size, and it will fit my wide 158 snug. I'm not sure you could get much anything bigger in there though. The material is thick, so it could make it through airport abuse, and the wheels and carry handle will get you outta the terminal and on the slopes before everyone else. I gave it four outta five stars because I was thinking there would be a brace or hard backing of some sort, but the only thing that keeps its standing tall is your board. So if it is put through some sort of force thats enough to break your board, its going to break, the bag has no backbone in it. But if you're looking for the bag that holds the most, look no further, it's right here.

Ok, I bought the white Burton Customs and they are SWEET! All my buddies love these things. I really like the toe cap as well. I don't think I could ever go back to a regular strap. The toe cap just makes your foot feel more secure and my board, feet, and body feel more like one unit. I don't have any problems w/ the straps, they cinch up just fine. I would recommend these things to anyone.

This board is great. I purchased one in the fall of '07 and was able try it out numerous times throughout the season. I've had tons of comments on how sweet everyone thinks it looks with my white Burton bindings. It has good feel and performs well anywhere on the mountain. Park, pipe, greens, blues, or blacks, this thing covers it all.

Oakley Crowbar - persimmon lens   09-13-08

I love my oakley crowbars. I have the persimmon lens in them, and they tend to be a medium light lens. On super bright days, I can get by with minimal squinting. And on overcast days they do quite well with the contours in the slope and what not. So basically, as long as I'm not night skiing, these are what I'm wearing. As far as the frame/lens shape goes, you have PLENTY of vision. I'd say compared to the Wisdom's it's almost identical. I would recomment the crowbars to one w/ a slightly smaller face and/or nose, and the wisdoms to someone with a little larger face and/or nose. And fogging....doesn't happen! If you're moving, they're CRYSTAL CLEAR!
