This jacket is a great concept. Unfortunately, that is all that it is. I bought one, and managed to make it completely non-op in two days of normal free riding. First problem: the devices are connected via ribbon wires with snap-in plugs. Every quick movement of your arms yanks out the connection to the control panel, the speakers, or both. Reconnecting is neither easy nor enjoyable. Second problem: the audio on the speakers is minimal. The loudest the speakers get is just barely enough to create a bit of ambient noise, it is really disappointing. Third problem: the microphone for the speaker is spotty. It is barely possible to hold a conversation. Add some wind to the equation and phone conversations are no longer possible. I tried to ‘fix’ the disconnect problem by adding electrical tape around the plugs to keep them secure. The jacket actually lasted the whole day (2nd day of use). However, the next morning, the jacket would no longer turn on. It is completely dead now, yet there are no visible defects. It appears that neither Motorola nor Burton QA tested this jacket. I found one similar post identifying these problems before I bought, but I dismissed. Now, I’m out several hundreds of dollars.
