I'VE NEVER GOTTEN WET IN THIS JACKET! I've used it for everything- Backpacking, hiking, climbing, low altitude mountaineering, ice climbing, and skiing. I've been in whiteouts, torrential down pores, and just about everything else with this jacket. The fit is perfect. (I'm about 6'1 average build and wear a large) Breathability is great, pit zips give adequate venting, and it is helmet-compatible. Despite numerous run-ins with jagged rocks and sharp branches I've never torn it. Totally worth every cent and more. If you don't want the bulk and price of a comparable Gor-Tex shell this is the one to own.

I've used these shoes for backpacking, light hiking, trail running, moderate approaches, and easy climbing. THEY ARE BOMBER! Best shoe I've ever owned. The rubber is extremely sticky on them. The sole pattern provides excellent traction in dirt, while giving you enough surface area contact on rock. The only problem I've noticed is the sole started peeling back at the toe.... not a big deal especially with how much I've put them through. I'm definitely gonna buy another pair when these ones wear out.

I've gone through 2 pairs of these shoes (resoled my first one's twice) No shoe fits like the katana! Thanks to the leather construction the shoe will stretch slightly over time resulting in a custom fit for your feet. I usually size 3 to 4 sizes smaller than my regular shoe size. (I wear a 47 normally and my katanas are 43 1/2's; although my next pair will be 43's.) The sole is a little softer than the muiras resulting in better smearing performance. If you are sick of shoes slipping around on your foot/heel this is the one for you. Well worth it!
