I bought the helmet mainly because it's the cheapest helmet with built in earphones. Plus I skate and wakeboard and like that style. I have now used it 6 times with no problems. Volume is plenty loud. Sound quality isn't the best if your gonna just sit there and listen without riding. While skiing I have other things to concentrate on, so who cares about quality.. volume is what is important. The only potential problem I see is that the vents can not be closed. I haven't used the helmet in cold weather yet (less than 20 F)... so I can't really say... but I think it could easily be remedied by duct taping the inside of the vents or something.
