monster in powder and at speeds   03-31-09

This board is perfect for anyone not interested in riding park. I'm 5'7", 145lbs and like a bigger board for high speeds and powder. It does that perfect: the edges hold and don't let go, the flex is snappy, and best of all it doesn't chatter on crud and choppy groomers. It really shines in powder, the taper helps with float and stomping drops is a breeze. Also, even with the taper, it still rides switch ok. The ICS is overrated - infinite stance options are unnecessary and just another burton gimmick to keep people from using bindings from other manufacturers. The only advantage of the ICS is that it's real easy to change the setback on powder days. Ranting aside, it's an amazing board.

Voile Split Decision Kit    This product is no longer available

Does what it's supposed to do - well   04-21-09

If you want a split board without paying the cash for a ready-made one, this kit will do the trick. I took an old board, and after 6 hours in the shop I had a new split board. It's not too tough to do - just takes some time. As far as using it goes... Skinning is not easy. This is no fault of the kit and with practice it works well, especially with the amount of grip the tractor skins get. The board rides well. You can't expect a board to ride the same if it's cut in half, but the kit system is actually amazingly good: it holds well and sturdy, doesn't chatter, and the board keeps quite a bit of its snap. All in all, if you want a cheap split board, and don't mind investing some time, this is for you.
