The Standard
12-08-08 ![]() |
THE sandal. Period. The sandals go anywhere and everywhere 365. Love 'em. They run true to size, come in wide sizes, a million different colors, and you can just throw them in the washing machine, etc., etc., etc. Not to mention they last forever, and their customer service is dynamite. I recently had a 2-year-old pair's sole start to separate, so I called Chaco. They told me to send them in for a free repair, so I got them completely resoled for $0 (including shipping). THAT's customer service. |

Where's the BPA?!?
12-08-08 ![]() |
Mine has BPA & yours doesn't! I put MSG in my water too, so it's extra delicious. Ok, so maybe I don't, but let's all go out and buy new water bottles anyway! These things are virtually indestructable and last forever. An absolute necessity. |

Great for cold mornings in camp
12-03-08 ![]() |
Great gloves for fumbling around trying to heat up your stove and make some joe. They are a bit tight (intentionally), but they 100% block out the wind and are great for gripping. As mentioned, they are water resistant, but only resistant. If you really need something better than that though, look elsewhere (sealskin, etc.) |

Great pants for the price!
12-02-08 ![]() |
You should definitely go ahead and go for these w/the zips. The convenience makes the extra ounces/grams well worth it. These pants are easy on/off, repel water well, and the elastic waste is a nice plus. These aren't gortex or Arc'teryx, but at $80 you can't beat 'em. |

Mine's a pretty red
12-04-08 ![]() |
These things are great, lightweight, and......good for bait?.... I use this thing all of the time. They can get a little dented up, but that adds to the character, and they never retain flavor. I only have 2 problems with them: first, they can sweat quite a bit, which can be annoying for off-the-trail use, and second, the mouth isn't wide enough for ice. Other than that, it's a great bottle for anything. |

Great Bang for Your Buck!
12-03-08 ![]() |
I've used this pack over and over again for through hikes (as well as my only carry-on during vacation), and it's a great pack. It's comfortable even when packed to the brim and mine has yet to show even minor wear & tear. The Osprey peeps make a big to-do over the heat-wrapped hipbelts, but I never had a local dealer w/the machine and mine has always been just fine. Some of the compression straps seem a bit misplaced, but that's pretty minor. The only real con is the lack of any access other than top (but you know that going into it). Great pack. Get it in orange!!! |

Good Kicks with some Drawbacks
11-17-08 ![]() |
I ordered these because I really needed some decent shoes for jeans or khakis at school or a casual night out. They're great for those things. They're pretty nice. Good quality and great Vibram sole. They're true to size (both length and width). I have a wide foot, and these are fine. There are a couple of issues, however: 1.) Initially there was quite a bit of rubbing on the heal (almost blistering). It stopped after a few days though. 2.) With cushioned socks (smartwool etc.) the vertical toe room seems quite snug 3.) As mentioned by others, they have virtually no arch support. For some these might be deal breakers, but I would still recommend them (and I'm actually wearing them right now). |

Good bag
12-03-08 ![]() |
The wife has this bag, so I'm writing this in her stead. She likes it, but is always talking about how jealous she is of my Timbuk2 laptop messenger. This thing is good-looking and durable, and she likes the side pocket for a Nalgene, water bottle, or thermos. However she likes the laptop sleeve in my Timbuk2 more and my shoulder strap is adjustable. Bottom line: This bag is "aight" if you're a Patagonia fanatic, but why not just get a messenger from the company that made it's name in messengers? |

Good shirt
01-23-09 ![]() |
I love ALMOST everything about this shirt. It's really soft, a good fit, and well-priced. However, my wife & I both recently bought bc.com long undies and noticed that the stitching seems to be off making the left arm's thumbhole ill-placed. Also, they thumbholes are too small. I would buy this shirt again, but wouldn't mind a few minor changes. |

Good Lightweight Sock
12-07-08 ![]() |
I was very surprised at how thin these socks were when I got 'em. I laughed as I just reread the description "the ideal balance of cushion...." These things have vitually NO cushioning. Sometimes I do need socks thinner than my Smartwools, and these are great. They wick well and stand up to abuse, but just know that they are thin. |

Great lightweight wicking shirt as a stand-alone or a baselayer from a great company, but as already mentioned, it VERY EASILY gets snagged. I love it, but being so careful gets annoying. |

I'm addicted to this stuff. Great company and a great product. It does the job and gives your lips a nice tingling sensation. Also, it doesn't create the Catch-22 of using/needing like Carmex does. The Hand Salve is amazing stuff too for those of us who work/play outside and get dried, cracked hands & knuckles. |

Great. Not perfect, but great.
12-04-08 ![]() |
I love this pad. You can sleep ANYwhere with this thing! My buds are continually amazed at how much nicer mine is and the fact that it rolls up almost as small as their pads. I should've done more research before buying it though. Trying to save oz I bought this one instead of the insulated and froze my butt off on Weekend on the Buffalo River (AR). If you're going to be using this in colder temps, I'd really recommend bringing along a silk blanket or sleeve. This thing is light, super comfy, and packs well. Really nice outfit B.A. has going on. |

Great company. Good contingency.
12-04-08 ![]() |
I looooove my Vector. Never had any problems with it and have had tons of compliments. I agree with Eric M.'s review though. If one is spending significant time on the trail, you should probably rely on more than a watch--er, "wristop computer." That being said, The functions are great, useful, and not that difficult with a little practice. (If you complain that your watch has too many functions, then get a simpler watch!) It's not hard if you read the manual. Certainly a great backup at the very least, and a great piece of equipment all around. |

Eh...
12-03-08 ![]() |
I wouldn't buy anymore of these. I personally don't like the material. It's got almost a microscopic grid and if you sit for very long, they can get a little painful. As already mentioned, they do have an odd fit as well. I love all other Patagonia stuff that I own, but these are usually avoided. Next time I'm going with Icebreaker or Exofficio. |

Comfy and warm
12-03-08 ![]() |
The wife loves her TNF fleece. She wears it out, on the trail, working out, and around the house. The wind can cut through it, but a light shell fixes it right up. It's retained its shape and doesn't show any signs of wear after dozens of washes. The wife loves it because she has a long torso and this fits her great. One caveat: she has the white, and other colors can bleed onto it quite easy, so be careful. Overall, a great layering piece. |

Great but...
12-03-08 ![]() |
I LOVE my encampment, and it's been so good to me. I'm a restless sleeper and the sleeve system and roomy back are great. However, the roominess can keep you colder (more space that you have to heat), and if you don't get the insulated pad, the bag WILL NOT keep you warm down to its 15 degree rating. (This can be remedied with a silk blanket though.) |

Great alternative
12-03-08 ![]() |
Great for individuals looking to save space compared to a pump or not wanting the taste of chemical treatments. You're good to go with some coffee filters for the big chunks and this guy for the stuff you can't see. I wouldn't count on this for large groups, super long trips, or constant subzero temps, but I love mine and haven't ever had any problems. Great product!!! |

Great sleeve
12-03-08 ![]() |
The wife bought this for her Macbook Pro for extra protection inside her Patagonia Half Mass. This is great for that or for just protecting your precious computer from the dog when she's inside. It's got a tough nylon exterior, good stiff cushioning, and ultra soft/durable corduroy inside. Great product. |

Ultra Warm
12-03-08 ![]() |
The wife adores this vest. She bought it when TNF was offering the 7 Summits series, but it's pretty much the same. This thing is CRAZY warm and she looks smokin' in it. It is water resistant, but I'd shy away from too much precipitation with the super-comfy 700 fill down. We go on walks in freezing Missouri winter evenings and all she needs is a windshirt and this vest. Dynamite stuff. |

Doesn't Get Any Better
12-03-08 ![]() |
I've put this thing through the ringer over and again, and it still looks almost new. It's tougher than nails and still looks good enough to take to work. The laptop sleeve keeps my Mac save and sound and all of the other pockets within sleeves within pockets keep all of my crap where it's supposed to be. Another top notch product from Timbuk2 |

Great for hot summer nights. (Bowchikawowow)
12-03-08 ![]() |
This is an all-around great tent. I've used it in sweltering AR summer nights and cold, wet, windy spring ones as well. This thing has stood the test. As long as you set it up facing the right way (air scooping the wind when hot & dry, and against the wind when cold & wet) you've got nothing to worry about. Its setup in stupid-easy and it's made of good materials. Cons: Vestibule space is nil & of course the zipper gets caught. P.S. And w/most tents, if you're mainly going w/2 people, then you should spring for the 3 man tent; so on & so forth. |

The wife has this jacket and absolutely loves it. It layers great and easily combines w/a NF hardshell for a 3-in-1. It keeps her warm and is a good-looking piece. Well made with good features. Not heavy enough for a stand-alone winter coat, but a great trail/layering jacket! |

Amazing
12-30-08 ![]() |
I love these bottoms. I used them for hiking/packing or even hunting. The 200 weight is great for active pursuits in cold temps or more stagnant hobbies with cool temps. They couldn't be more comfortable. Sizing: A lot of people have mentioned that they run a size small, but I'd disagree. I'm 6' and a lean 200, and they fit nice a snug. These aren't meant to be pants, they're a long UNDERWEAR. They're supposed to be skin-tight, but not constrictive, to go underneath everything else. They're bomber and I'd recommend them to anyone. |
