The reviews for this coat are on target: Pros - -Excellent wind-stopping ability -Good, athletic fit -Soft material Cons - -Pockets are high cut, a little uncomfortable -Obnoxious chest logo -External chest pocket is awkward. I wish the Napoleon pocket was on the outside. -Not nearly as warm as some reviewers suggest. Keeps out the wind, but isn't super-insulative. -Neck could be a litle tighter. I have a big neck relative to the rest of my body. Even so, when fully zipped up, the collar still isn't snug against my skin. Overall, a recommended jacket, with a few acceptable drawbacks.

Uses: Base layer, gym, cool/cold-weather running. I've accumulated a couple of these shirts off of SAC. The sleeves are strange--tight in the forearms and billowy in the bicep/shoulder area. Granted, I'm probably not following the appropriate laundering instructions, but I've found that they have all shrunk as time goes by. This especially affects the length of the shirt. If I raise my arms above my head, the hem is short enough that it exposes a couple inches of my stomach. Sleeves have gotten a little shorter, but not really as bad. The fabric has developed a few snags, but nothing too severe. Good wicking performance in hot and cold temps.

One of Backcountry's sister sites was selling this for an unbelievable price. I covet the 66 North Iceland Thorsmork parka, and this seemed a like a good substitute for a much more agreeable price. However, I ended up returning this coat. Pros: fur hood, wrist gaiters, plentiful pockets Cons: Material is very thin, didn't seem very insulative. The fit is ridiculous--tight in the "skirt", enormous in the arms and torso. Maybe this coat is well-designed for snowboarding applications and it's "bomber", or whatever the kids are calling it these days. But as I purchased it hoping I found a big, burly, stylish, fur-hooded coat that I could look forward to wearing in the dead of winter, I was disappointed. Granted, I didn't give it much of a chance, so your mileage may vary. But me, I'll keep saving my pennies for that 66 North beauty.
