Nice, but not quite there yet...

These are my third pair of bindings I've had so I can compare them to the Burton Mission's and Rome Targa's. Pros: Highback rotation, great heelside response, rear entry is quick in and out, design and colors are cool, powerstrap works nice and is comfortable. Cons: the rear entry can get caught in the back of your boot and potentially damage it, cheap paint started chipping away even before I finished mounting it! fortunately its black underneath for the black/white model, Wont work on really big/bulk boots (barely got in my '08 Burton Moto's), base heavy. Overall, the rear entry setup is nice but it needs some work. If you're just riding down the mtn for fun then you can keep the strap loose and just step in and go but most of the time I have to stop to tighten down the straps anyways. If I tighten them down too much then I cant slide my boot out. This might be an issue with my boot compatibility more than the design tho. I think Im gonna rock them for a little while longer but will probably end up trading them in for some K2 Cinches instead. I've heard those actually push your boot forward into the strap which would solve the biggest issue I have with these bindings. I do like the powerstrap, even though it doesn't have much toe support. They're definitely freeride bindings. Only one foot cushion on the top of the binding. its nowhere near the cushioning and adjustability that the Rome Targa's provide. My final ranking for bindings I've owned so far would go to the Targas 1st, and these are tied with the Missions for 2nd. |

Perfect for city winters and a nice alternative the TNF's Nuptse
12-09-08 ![]() |
Just got this jacket and I'm lovin' it. I'm 6'1", 175 lbs w/ 35" sleeves and 32" waist. I agree with other reviewer's who say the body length is shorter than average but here's the cool part. You can get the large and still not have to worry about a big fit in the waist if you have an athletic cut. The jacket has not 1, but 2 nylon cord cinches around the waist. There's one on the very bottom of the jacket that cinches all the way around and another one inside the jacket and about 6" up that cinches around the back and sides, which basically can give you a "tailored" look! Effin A! It also has velcro wrists and another zippered inside pocket on the right that's big enough for wallet, keys, and a cell. It's super lightweight, 800-down warm, and comes with a stuff sack. If you're looking for an alternative to the Nuptse, this is it! Just don't go climbing or riding in it. |

Do headhunters pass on you? Smith built this for the weird headed too!

Got a shrunken head? then this is the helmet for you! I have a hard time finding helmets, hats, and even beanies that look good on me. My face is kind of long oval-shaped and I have a small head circumference, about 53 cm. The HFS system solved that dilemma right away. Tried on my size, adjusted the HFS in the back and my head finally knew what it was like to cuddle. I loved it. Extremely lightweight, comfortable padding, cool looking, and they fit perfectly with my POC lobe goggles! A little more expensive than most, but worth it. get last years model on sale if you can. |

mucho comfortable and it came w/ an xtra lens!
02-01-09 ![]() |
Probably the best small-med sized goggle out there. I purchased the white/gold chrome and it comes with a bonus nightstalker blue lens that allows 60% VLT for night riding. The Gold chrome/mirror is the new black, this combo looks bad ass and it only transmits 16% of light. The lenses are dual and the only time I could get them to fog up was by intentionally blowing on them but then they would clear up right away. The frame is extremely light and more flexible than than the Spy Zed that I was comparing it with. In the end, these were more compatible with my small smith variant helmet than the Zed's and had the extra night lens on top of it. Unfortunately, the medium-large VZ's were too big for me, but those felt really nice also. Even though it didn't have the helmet side clips, it was still helmet compatible and didn't leave a gap. I'm extremely happy with the purchase and will definitely recommend these as my numero 1 choice for anyone between 51-56cm sized small head. |

ROTFLMAO
12-29-08 ![]() |
LOL! this watch is exactly what the page describes, just fun. I got the blue skull and it lights the whole face 5 different colors/settings, 1-clear, 2-blue, 3-red, 4-green, 5pink, 6-flashes all the colors and even most of the band, OMG! All plastic, so probably not the most durable but it doesn't feel cheap either. Got it for my gf but even my bro-in-law wants one. Stainless Steel back, 2yr warranty and water-resistant to 3 ATM which is normal daily water, ie washing dishes. Just dont go swimming or rock climbing in it, or you'll be saying WTF? |

very comfortable with sick styling
02-26-09 ![]() |
I got the drunk edition of this boot and its 10 times better than my first pair of Burton Moto's. no pressure points, the liner is heat moldable, and it comes with 2 pairs of J-bars in case you have skinny ankles or heel lift. The ankle brace is solid and not uncomfortable. I had pressure points on the top of my foot with the Burtons, but not with these. soft-med flex, but didnt notice anything bad with my all-mtn freeriding. I bet they're even comfier once i get them heat molded. They also fit perfectly with my Flow M9 bindings, the burtons were slightly bigger. The only downside is that they're traditonal lacing, which is good for tightening/slacking an area as opposed to the speed zones or boa's that tighten overall. I've never had to tie them back up while riding either, so the laces work great. Love the Drunk Banana, they look like big skater shoes! It was a toss up between these and the K2 T1's for me. the T1's have an inner boa ankle + trad lacing system that's sick, but these have style! so if you're thinking about buying any other boots...Don't Do It! |

update on previous review
02-25-09 ![]() |
I haven't even had the jacket for a month and its already showing wear and tear. yes, ive been wearing it every day in utah this winter but it hasnt even been a month! and i've only been riding in it 4 times. Nothing on the outside but the buttons with the sweater sleeves, zipper lining, and some of the pocket stitching has come undone. I contacted Ride thru email, since thats there only method of cust service and they just replied with a "did you look at the faq site? talk to your dealer." Are you serious? They could use a lesson or two from Backcountry for sure. Unfortunately, now they're all out of the jacket color so i'll have to see what Ride can do for me since I love this model. the problem seems to be mainly the stitching on the inside of the jacket. its poorly done. Everything else is still fine. Not surprisingly, the Cappel Beanie is also pretty weak, its getting fuzzier and lighter every day. Great style and comfort but bad workmanship. Lets hope it was just this one jacket. |

Your next accessory beanie! but only while it lasts.

wow, so I've never worn beanies with my jeans and tee's until I got this one! Super comfortable, the fleece lining is about 4" high inside so your forehead's comfy and warm. The fit's perfect for my small-medium sized noggin as it covers all of my ears but not my face and doesn't stick up or out. The small metal CAPP3L logo adds a subtle brand style. The only downside is that the material seems more fragile because of its weave, 100% Acrylic. There are knitting gaps but I was never cold the past two times I've been night boarding with it @ Brighton, UT. One of those nights was during a storm too. Also, it gets fuzzy the more I wear it. non-machine washable but you can throw it in the dryer although I wouldn't recommend it. I really love it tho, and will probably end up buying another one to replace it once it wears out, which will be sooner because of how much I'm wearing it! |

If money was a jacket, this would be it.
02-10-09 ![]() |
Only one minor thing I would have changed and that would have been to increase the size of the main hand pockets, that's it. This jacket is amazing, no wonder it's not discounted at all, it's worth every cent. I returned the Burton AK2 Cyclic I had just purchased that's the same price and picked up this Onyx Black one instead. If you're looking for a street styled snowboarding jacket thats not baggy and can also be used around town then def check out CAPP3L, Ride's premium clothing line. Both the Onyx Black and Khaki have subtle horizontal and vertical stripes that add major style points, similar to the Scott Spectre Goretex jacket but not as apparent. I really liked the look of the Opal Weave as well, its more brown and white than the pics show and if my pants weren't black already, I probably would have picked that color instead. (Team it with the CAPP3L Opal White Lennox Pants for a sick combo, IMO) It zips up really high for max neck/chin coverage, the goggle pocket with silk lined goggle bag even includes a suede lens wiper! A mesh pocket to hold your removable pow skirt, pocket key holder, removable 'sweater' wrist gaiter's, and see-thru taped media pocket are all extra nice touches. 100% polyester shell with 70/30 poly/nylon for the model-clad liner. (Don't leave the jacket alone with your friends...) 3M Thinsulate insulation is great, I wore a LS thermal with my fav tee over it while it was snowing and blowing in Utah and I was still toasty, even without the hoody on. Now you know a jacket is warm when you don't even have to pull on the hoody and part of that reason is due to the higher luxuriously soft microsueded area thats ~7 inches of the top of the inside. Just don't be surprised to find people staring at you when you start cuddling with yourself. The removable hood's freakin huge, definitely helmet compatible. I'm 6'1 with a 40" chest, 35" sleeve and 32" waist and I ended up getting the medium for a slimmer cut even tho I could've gone with the Large as well for a more relaxed fit. The Wellington quickly replaced my Salomon 3in1 that I had shed for so many years. Get this jacket...get the looks and compliments. |

Awesome laptop messenger bag, could use one or two tweaks.
01-22-09 ![]() |
I was checking out bags mainly to replace my backpack for school use and decided to go with this Prana in place of the Crumpler's. Tons of room, i can fit 2 3-subject notebooks and some big lecture books inside easily. Any bigger tho, and I probably would have returned it. I really liked the separate jacket compartment, the zipper entry on the top so you dont have to wrestle the velcro flap every time to get in and the padded suspended laptop sleeve easily fits my 13" Black Macbook with some room to spare. Also, its nice looking, the bottom and side's are padded, it has an external pocket with a lid that fits a 20oz bottle perfectly, and it looks like it will last a while. The cons, it doesn't have a handle! I cant believe how many messenger bags are missing this really simple design, and while the shoulder belt length is adjustable, the padded area is fixed so it doesn't slide up/down the belt. You basically have to wear the bag on your left side (I'm right handed) or like a purse on your right side, otherwise the padded region sits in front of your chest. Also, this model is not waterproof and doesn't have a waist belt for bike riding. All in all, I like the bag enough to keep it. The style (not another Ogio bag), price, and zipper entry convinced me and I'll get used to the left side. I'm a climber anyways, so this is just one more way for me to represent. Rock On! |

Sick Designer Hoody
12-29-08 ![]() |
I bought this in large after getting the zip up version in med. I liked the colors and how they moved and sized smaller the logo to the back. It gives it a cleaner, designer look than w/ the big logo on the front. Fits great, really long torso length, and I'm pretty tall already at 6'1" 32" waist, 40" chest but this size could almost cover my butt. I like the waist fit tho, slimmer but not too tight. The zip up has thumb holes but this one didn't. The buttons are nice and big, kinda cool but I think I like the zipper better. Can't beat those Trulli's...they're evil! |

I hate it when you walk thru the forest and the animals start shooting out lasers from their eyes at you! This tee is awesome! Med fit is not exactly slim, just right. I'm 6'1" 175 lbs with a 40" chest and 32" waist. Your friends will laugh with you, not at you. |

Best bang for buck for sport climbing in Utah
12-24-08 ![]() |
perfect rope for sport climbing. I bought this early Summer '08 and am loving it. its a 10.2 but feels like 9.8. I opted for the Dry version since it makes sense add some DWR protection on a rope, why not? keeps the dirt and grime out better and resists wear and tear more. The rope slides smoothly thru my belay devices. The gri gri didnt work too well, tho, cause it was thinner than what it works well with. You can also go online and register your rope for reminders on care, maintenance, and expiration dates sent to your email! sweet. |

love the little guys on here with their flower on one hand and the bat behind their backs on the other! the color scheme's awesome and this hoody is easily a nice designer hoody. It includes thumbsleeves so take that into account when you order w/ sleeve length. I have 35" arms with a 40"chest and got the medium. fits snug but not too tight but shouldve gotten the large. Get this! |

awesome snow boot from Burton.
11-13-08 ![]() |
for the price, its really, really hard to beat these boots. I have normal sized feet, size 10 with a width of about 5-5.5 inches and they fit perfectly. they are more on the stiff side, take some time to break in, but they're still comfortable and they kept my toes warm. The Speed Zone Lacing is sick. just pull up on two wires, tuck them in, and you're good to go. easy in and out, its insane. And NO, they wont break! Had these all of last season and they still look brand new. |
