I bought these to secure a canoe to my Thule roof rack. It has worked great as there are four supports that latches on the the racks that prevents the canoes from moving. The straps are also multipurpose, so when not using the canoe you can use it for other things to secure onto the roof rack.

I bought this rack to haul around my canoe and a future kayak. So far it has performed great. Fits my car well and holds a ton of weight. I've also used it to hold down fishing rods and long pole nets. Also I used the rear rack as a tie down recently to use my ratchet straps and secured a dirt bike in my trunk and routing the straps around the load bars and worked great. My biggest fear since that would have been the point of failure was that it would give, but it held on and I was able to transport the bike in a 4 hour drive.
