Terrific Jacket
11-17-07 ![]() |
The Patagonia Men's Lightweight R4 fleece jacket is simply inimitable. This season's cooler P logo and improved zippers and fit are welcomed details. (An internal security, zippered, mesh pocket would have been a phenomenal and needed addition...). This jackets' warmth to weight ratio, compressibility, and breathability are phenomenal and unmatched. Depending where you live and your intended uses, this jacket is a great daily wear piece. The only problem I found is the sleeve length. The Medium fits me really well except that the sleeves, being too long, tend to accumulate accordion-like around the cuffs thus making one's wrists quite warm all the time... (Depending on your built, this may not be a problem for you). Shop with confidence at this website. |

terrific puff

it's an indispensable piece to stay warm. feel great against skin, like all Patagonia gear. it layers easily over base layers. it's super light, compressible, comfortable, ultra warm, and stylish and trim/elegant fitting--unlike its earlier boxier predecessor. the neck zip and drawcord stop drafts, and the vertical chest zip is of much use. (for those of us with small wrists it would have been nicer to have elastic cuffs a bit tighter or to have those ultra light hoop and loop Patagonia cuffs elastic combination). it blocks sub-zero winds, freezing cold, and rain. (for not being one of Patagonia's amazing capilene, wool, or regulator gear, it actually does have some breathing. it comes with a stuff sack (19g), but you may also fold it and carry it flat instead. |

Amazing

This jacket is now lighter and softer and with much better zippers than its predecessor. The Aegean Blue is Beautiful! I'm purchasing it for a trip I'm anticipating to take soon... However, I can't quite decide if I need a Small or a Medium or Aegean or Black... Bottom Line: There is no other fleece jacket in the market that's better at providing windproof, compressibility, lightweight, durability, stretch, comfort, and is also stylish. ONE issue: I wish they would have placed regular hand warming pockets instead of the "venting" pockets whose purpose is useless for me-(am I the only one?) |

Beautiful
03-06-08 ![]() |
Only recently, after several years of being a loyal Patagonia fan, did I order the Highball Snap Shirt. It's the coolest looking, most unique, elegant, comfortable, breathable, ligth, men's shirt--period. It has a really great fit and distinguished look, and the snaps are an awesome touch. Unfortunately there is only one pattern available in small right now... but I would buy a dozen of these shirts even at full-price... This is the best place to buy it |

elegant

this is really a wonderful garment from a terrific company. it's soft, warm, beautiful, and stretchy. i said elegant because just like most of the patagonia "unders" you can really wear them as a casual or even dress top. |

Uncommon

The Patagonia Active Boxer Briefs are absolutely The Best. The fit is incredibly comfortable and ultra lightweight. This (Capilene 2?) is warm yet cool, soft and stretches with your moves. These are boxers that you'll wear year-rond. They are also just phenomenal for trail running. If you have Capilene 1 or Capilene silkweight boxers you know that these may be washed in a bathroom sink, hang to dry, and are ready to wear in a very short time. Unlike the Capilene boxers, these will not ride-up. There is no excessive fabric to bunch-up under your trousers. Bottom Line: hands-down the best. The search is over. |

Awesom
09-19-07 ![]() |
Patagonia's L/S Island Hopper Shirt has too many superb features to enumearate here. However, here are a few. The shirt's cut is truly elegant and stylish. The blues are beautiful in hue and pattern. The fit is superbly comfortable and lightweight--while it may be dressed-up or down: walking your dog, a fancy dinner at the local Organic joint, feeding the homeless day at your local Synagogue. The shirt's mixture of Oraganic cotton and Recycled Polyester fibers give it a clean drape, and practical three-seasson comfort. Terrific overall shrit! Beware: you'll start with one Patagonia product and you'll be hooked. Soon you'll love the company's core values which make you feel great about wearing their gear... Then, in a few months, your entire wardrobe will be Patagonia... And though you firmly believe in YC's philosophy of only buying what you need and no more until it's time to recycle it... You can't stop... It's the colors, the design, the fit, the feel, the comfort, etc. Time for my therapy session. Hope this Review helps. |

terrific pants
04-23-07 ![]() |
Patagonia gear is almost indestructible, made with as little impact to the environment as possible, and really beautiful if not also stylish. these pants are light and move with you. they also fit well and are very comfortable. i am one that was hoping to wear them for many uses: one being as daily wear. however, though really nice, the latte is just a bit too bright for me. (always unhappy when returning Patagonia gear.) i do very much recommend these if you are less silly than me about certain colors. |

excellent

terrific capilene 2 shirt. it's lightweight and breathes very well. it's also very comfortable and warm. i also have a crew one, but the zip neck gives more versatility. it's a wonderful compliment to a wardrobe that should already include a capilene1 and a capilene3! |

awesome jacket-warm to various degrees
03-28-07 ![]() |
this jacket feels comfortable at a varied and extensive temperature range. it's very light and airy and compressible. breathes terribly well, and in a freezing windy 29degrees this jacket coupled with a capilene base layer and a fleece r3 hat, should keep you very warm. (the first negative comment on Patagonia--a co. i love for its core values activism and gear: on certain gear (size small were my samples)there seems to be little attention to detail. Patagonia may say that this is because their gear is for rugged lifetime wear and it doesn't affect the function of the jacket for instance; plus, the quality material and construction are guaranteed for a lifetime... however, as i was saying, it seems that some of the m's light weight r4's have a visibly crooked chest zipper stitching, flack fleece, asymetrical seam unions, and zipper teeth of that are the wrong color... unfortunately i found this to be the case in a stainless and royal lwr4 in size small. |

essential
03-28-07 ![]() |
an essential and versatile piece to carry quite a bit of gear and travel. this bag also a handsome piece that you may carry with you into the lobby of any fancy hotel. the zippers and the "burrito" style opening, the straps all smartly designed and built to withstand decades of use. (the only reason i returned it is because i needed a larger bag to carry all my Patagonia gear--their small black hole bag was the option). |

great piece
03-28-07 ![]() |
the new Patagonia capilene 2 is lighter, better fitting, warmer and cooler than its predecessor. the cut is no longer "boxy" and the collar stays in place making it look elegant. terrific by itself or as a first layer. Patagonia capilene and or wool base layers feel so amazingly soft against the skin... (you want to wear all as first layers). |
