Mountain Hardware rules the Himilaya's
11-09-05 ![]() |
I just returned to my Hawaii home from a successful attempt at the 21,500' summit of Imja Tse. The last 4-days found us shivering in our tents above 17,500'. The climbing Sherpas and I had one thing in common as we both wore Mountain Hardware down jackets. Believe me the similarities ended there as this island boy had a tough time with less than half the oxygen available at sea level. To avoid breathing the dust and dry frigid air, the big collar did the trick. I would've had a tough time surviving without this quality product...Mahalo. |

Fleece Jacket

This baby worked great with my fleece (puffball) pants to sleep in. During the day I always had my fleece jacket on and alternated between my shell and my Mountain Hardwear down coat. I could adjust the zipper as needed to avoid perspiring. Without this shop I wouldn't stand a chance of summiting this Class A Himilaya mountain between Lhotse and Ama Dablam. |
