Pretty good   02-03-05

These were my second pair of Smiths. I had the Rhythm Regulators which went foggy on me a year after I had them in cold snowy conditions (before that day the Regulators were great!). So I thought to upgrade with the Prodigy to rid myself of the fog. Well, the Prodigy is good but not as good as I expected. It fogged on me the VERY FIRST time I had them on in Sunny Conditions but after a run or two the ventilation system took care of the fog. I haven't had fog problems since. Bottom Line: They are comfortable and the vent system works great...but the jury is still out to see if the benefits outweigh the increase in price as compared to lower models...

OK, but will have sacrifices   12-13-05

The ease of getting in these bindings off the lift is offset by the fact one cannot get in them while sitting down heel-side cause clearance is needed for the highback to be pulled down. I ride in the backcountry where sometimes I need to get in my board while on a steep grade or if stuck in powder and the only way to really get in Flows on a steep grade is to get on your knees and step in Toe-Side. I took these puppies back and am now considering the K2 Cinch's or just back to regular strap-ins.

Solid freeride binding.   01-31-06

This is a solid binding for freeriding. I've been on them for three full days of riding. The huge straps are very comfortable and easily manageable. I don't have to strap in super tight to be completely secure on the board. Allows for precise control and the slightly curved highback is great, especially if boot angles are set more towards racing (vs. freestyle). Only knock I have so far is that they are a bit overweight. They are not heavy, I just expected them to be lighter since they are top of the line. Also the ratchet unlocking system SEEMs to be a bit fragile. Nonetheless, a great responsive and solid binding for freeriding...Ride to Glide!
