best trailers I've had   09-13-05
alaskarunner (2): rating
I run regularly in these shoes, year-round, 95% of the time on uneven/rocky/rooty and soppy trail terrain. These are the best trail shoes I've used, lasting 10 times longer than either pair of Montrails I've tried (Vitesse and Hurricane Ridge) or the Addidas/Nike versions of trail runners I've tried. I'm on my second pair of Vasque Velocities and they've outlasted and outperformed all the others. They don't seem to go "flat" as quickly as Montrails, and they are really stable without cramping my toebox. And the toes are more durable for stubs/trips than Addidas Supernova, etc. And they breathe/dry out quickly when running through the mud/soppy ground. I love these shoes!!!

Awesome Vasque Trail Runners   09-24-04
jc (1): rating
The Vasque (2003) trail runner is a great shoe. I trail run high in the Rocky Mts. and they have been super. We recently hiked throught Peru (Cordillera Blanca)above 15K feet (no peak bagging) and they performed great! We did not have heavy backpacks. They are definitely a summer shoe, not sealed; water and dust will come right in.

Perfect for the daily grind   05-02-07
Tasmanian Hills (2): rating
My address is roughly 'bottom of the world, turn right, on the coast', cold, often wet, with salty air, and I run for about 1 hour per day on trails which range from rock, to gravel, to rough dirt, to the beach. These shoes provide superb foot support, and are proving to be up to the hard wear I give them. Durable and supportive. For daily trail-running these shoes are sensational value.

Great Shoe   05-30-06
pcgirl (8): rating
I love this shoe so far! Unfortunately, however I purchased ½ size larger than I normally do based on another review on this site. The shoe is now a little too large, but it will work. I'd advise sticking to your true size when purchase.

stylish, but weak.   09-22-04
Kristin Piccirillo (176): rating
I loved the comfort and look of these shoes and they were great for walking around town, impressing guys with my outdoor look, etc. However, when I started to use them on longer backpacking trips, they wore out incredibly fast. I got two holes and the sole started tearing away from the shoe... all in under 3 months. I really like Vasque shoes, but next time... vibram soles.

Vasque Velocity   04-11-08
North of 60 (2): rating
I purchased these after knee surgery when I was getting back into running. These shoes are excellent for hiking, with great traction. However, I find them a bit heavy, stiff and even a bit unstable for running trails. I have a narrow heel, though, and that could be the issue for me with these shoes.

Good Traction   12-13-07
Errin (3): rating
The conditions here have been really icy lately and these shoes have provided really great traction on the ice. The heel seemed a little open on my feet at first but they seem to fit better now that I have more runs on them. They are best on the trail but are light enough for the pavement section I run on to get back to the house. They seem quite stable and stiff. I usually prefer motion control shoes.

The best running shoes ever!   02-21-06
Lo (1): rating
I have been running for about five years and have gone through many a-shoe. I decided to run my first marathon last week and I wore my brand new Vasque Velocities. I had only gotten the chance to wear them for two runs before the race, but I ran it blister-free and happily! The soles are tough and so are the toe protectors. These shoes are made for real trail running; they have great protection, rigid soles, and are well ventilated. No loose rock will ruin your run, because these shoes protect your foot and grab a hold of anything capable of giving traction. I love 'em!

Not bad   07-29-04
Julianne (1): rating
I had been running in Solomon's and found that they were just a little too narrow for me. Since I'd had Vasque boots at one time, I decided to try these shoes. Though they don't seem too narrow, my feet have been going numb in certain areas and sometimes they don't seem stable enough. I'm willing to give them some more good runs, but otherwise they may become some "kickin' around" shoes. Still looking for the best pair for me...

Good all-around shoes   09-28-04
upcamogie (7): rating
I have had my pair for several months now and have worn them in a variety of terrains-- hill walking in Scotland, hiking forest trails, rock scrambling, and just around town. They have performed well in every situation-- but their performance on bare rock is so far the 'weakest link' in my activities wearing the Velocity. Vasque seems to run a bit wider than other outdoor shoes I have, so I wouldn’t recommend them for more narrow heeled people (like myself). But an extra insole helps stabilize my heel.

Good, Solid Shoe   03-19-05
M. A. Croy (2): rating
These shoes are good for trail running or street walking. I am using these shoes as walking shoes in the city. So far, I am pleased with the performance of these shoes. One might consider ordering 1/2 size larger than their regular shoes. I wish I had.
