I don't know where "Chuckie" was riding but these tires are simply the worst tubular money can buy. The base tape fails (separates from tire) making them unsafe, they have zero puncture protection, they are horribly unround and they don't even have a removeable core so you can run them on something deep. I was given six of these to train on over last winter (my powertap is laced to a tubular) and the best mileage I got out of any of them was 1100 miles; and that is on some of the smoothest roads in the country.

I put this tire on my fixed gear, and it's been good. Nothing too special... but if you're skidding around and don't need a high performance tire it's great.
