Vans Chukka Low Skate Shoe - Men's
Since 1966 Vans has been putting shoes on the feet of skaters and surfers. Their canvas shoes with gum rubber soles gripped onto slick piers and skinny skate decks like nothing else before it. In short time their waffle pattern sole and colorful uppers became synonymous with southern California board riding culture. Throughout the '70s and '80s skatedecks grew bigger, surfboards got smaller, and music got louder. It was during these fast times that Vans solidified their reputation with legendary skateboarders and original punk rockers, Tony Alva and Steve Caballero. To this day, Vans shoes have been worn to more skate missions, mosh pits and surf breaks than any other.

Excellent Feel   05-04-09

Great feel on the board. Thin shoe, so it'll wear down faster than your thicker, more padded skate shoe. Hybrid of your typical DC skate shoe and your thin Converse originals.

Solid. Probably the best shoe to come from Vans so far. Whether pushing your skate or peddlin down the ave, these kicks keep your feet looking super fresh while providing the bet of functoinality

I have a few questions.   10-08-09

I really like these shoes and most of my friends wear vans. The only pear that i've ever had was the striped slip-ons and i never skated in those anyways so i'd like to know about how long they last on the board? I also wear size 10 in dvs and i've heard that vans tend to run big so should i get a size 9.5 or 10?

Pre Glue !   09-14-09
JakeO (2): rating
I have been skating for well too long. Anyway the best way to make vans last longer than your third week is to pre glue all of the seems. So where your board is going to hit the seems put a dab of super glue on there. Not enough to throw your board out of wack but enough to hold the seems tight. Also always be sure to put a little extra glue where the rubber meets the leather.

Nice   05-23-09

Great sneakers, super comfy. I usually wear a 11.5/12 but i got these in a 10.5 because I found them to run a little big. I got them in seafoam and theyre great I love them especially for only 50 bucks. I don't skate in them, but if I did I can tell theyd get ripped up pretty quickly, the vulcanized sides are detaching from the bottoms in the back a little bit already and i've had them for only a couple weeks.

One of the best skate shoes on the market. Waffled sole, comfy, durable and long lasting. This is my second pair and the the Chukka Low is a killer shoe for skating.

More of a casual shoe, great for long boarding.    05-28-08
Dj Nebula (184): rating
If you are looking for a shoe to last a long time skating, this is not the one. But they are really comfortable to just cruise in and the are really great for long boarding.

You Be The Judge...   04-21-09
Matt Coleman (14): rating
Great if your on a budget, but BEWARE padding is lacking, toe region rips very fast, and spreads rapidly, grip wears out in a matter of days, and such a low profile design my ankles were soooo bruised. Although the price is nice, the board feel is amazing, you should take these points into consideration. Great for Chillin, Sub-Par for skating (for me).
