| Too tight in the thighs. Length seemed to be true, but had to return them for a larger size. No idea how many stars to give as i am still waiting for my next pair. |

| I bought these for a 9 day trip in yellowstone and the tetons last June and July. They were exactly what I was looking for which was a light weight, comfortable, convertible pair of pants.
The fit is perfect, I am 6' tall 165 pounds and bought the L/Reg size if that helps any. The zippers for the short conversion are not noticeable while wearing them, in other words they feel like regular pants. There is only one zippered pocket and it's layered behind the front left pocket. I kept my keys in there and other stuff in the main pictures.
These were the only pair of pants I had with me the whole time and they stayed nice and clean (at least no dirt showed) and they dried very quickly when I used them to swim in lakes numerous time.
I wear these ALL the time now. |

| I usually have nothing but good things to say about TNF products but these things do not fit correctly. They fit fine in the waist but the thighs and butt are tight and trust me, I don't usually have that issue. The quality looks good but I don't think these will be comfortable to walk long distances. |

| I LOVE these pants! They're incredibly lightweight for summer activities/lounging and also really durable. I use mine for climbing and our granite slabs are no match for the durable nylon material. I'm glad to see that this site has over 300 pairs in stock now, because I just bought one of EVERY color. Thanks!!!! Your site rocks |

| I love these North Face pants. Tried on so many different convertibles and found something wrong with all except these Horizons. Will be buying another pair soon in preparation for a birding trip to Costa Rica. |

| I just got these pants today so I can't testify to their abilities in the elements, but as far as comfort and fit go they're great! I'm about 5'9" 145 lbs with a 31" waist. I bought the Medium regular length; when I took them out of the bag I was a bit worried because they looked far too small, but the elastic in the waist stretches really nicely and doesn't dig in as I feared it might. My only thought is that they could be an inch or so shorter, but that's just me.
I must agree with those before me who said you don't feel the zippers in the legs. I was hesitant to purchase zip-off pants because I've had poor experience with them in the past, but these are in a whole new category - you don't feel the zipper and you don't look like a dork :P The material is very light and feels good as well; I am however worried that they won't hold up well when it comes to thorns and branches, but I suppose that is to be expected from pants in this category.
Overall I am quite pleased, the zippered pockets are a nice feature (though I don't put much in my pockets while hiking anyway) and the one for your cell phone is quite handy as well. The only reason these pants don't get a perfect 5 is because I don't think they'll hold up against heavy abuse. If that's not something you're concerned about buy these pants!
*FYI the green is a lot more green then the picture leads you to believe. |

| who ever designed the pocket system on these pants was an idiot there are not two pockets on the side there are four pockets in the front they are layered one over the other making two of the pockets totally useless, restricting motion and making them to tight to be very functional. |

| These are good, light-weight convertibles. They run smaller than the sizing chart might lead you to believe. I'm 6'4'' 205lbs with a 33'' waist. I eventually ended up with the XL/ Long, after returning the L/L. They were too short and constrictive through the thighs. The waist is larger than ideal, but these have a draw string and belt loops. I commonly have this problem due to my "athletic" build. Overall these are good pants. Not my favorite, or the best I own, but they do the job. |

| I read as many reviews I could before I bought these pants. The only thing I have to say is they do seem to run slightly snug but well. They also run a bit on the long side, but this isn't bad. |

| I bought these pants for hiking / backpacking. So far they have lived up to everything I have thrown at them. The elastic waistband is very comfortable, but if you need extra support or reassurance, there is a draw string as well. Compared to other convertible pants, you hardly notice the zipper for the zip-offs. I know on some other pants that can be uncomfortable on your knees after a day of hiking. I highly recommend these pants!! |

| I have taken these on a few trips into the north califonia coast, and hiked through some nasty rocky waters and rocky beaches and over many logs and never a rip or tear.(and i always stay off the trail and try my own route, kinda like a little kid in the backyard creek.haha) They dried very quick and are very light. They do run small though I am a large normally and went with the xl. May need long johns when it drops to mid 20s. Great pants! |

| But I can't. Lightweight, Dry's in less than 5 minutes on a warm day, Zippered side pockets were great when I discovered them. Best purchase I have made recently, so I went and bought another pair. Probably gonna end up with 4 in the end. I normally wear a 38" waist @ 230lbs 6'2" and XL fits great. |

| I really like these pants now that I sent back the large and got xl. The North Face size chart is wrong. If you are a 36 to 38 you need to order xl. I don't think it is fair that I had to pay for return shipping because of this error. |

|
| i am 186 cm tall 82 kg and 33 inches inseam, 38 waist and 44 hip, for this i thought that i need an L size, but chating with a gearfreak he told me to get an xl because he has one and fits small.
The XL fits great everywhere, except that it is a little long on the legs, may a short would be better for me, i got the regular one.
it has a snap closure, and a adjustable drawcord on the waist, also it is stretchable on the hips, and has belt loops- the hand pockets are very comfortable, the left one also has zip closure. the side pockets are too small, only fits 3 fingers, i think it`s for keys or coins, or mobile, or a small mediaplayer. the backpockets has button closure. the zips on each leg have different colours, so you don`t get confused, and the legs zippers at the bottom are very convenient so you do not have to take your shoes off when it gets hot. They are very lightweight.
i got the soil brown, it is darker than the picture, and for 36 bucks it`s a
nice quality product
take my advice get a size bigger than you think

| These pants fit my husband well. He wished the closure was a button though instead of a snap. The snap seems strong though. He didn't say anything about tightness in the thighs. |

| I wear 33x30 pants and bought these in M Short - perfect length and waist.
They're lightweight, the zip off legs is great, and they dry quickly.
Overall they're comfortable, but everyone mentions that they're "tight in the thighs" - I only noticed that to be a problem when I was taking a big step up onto a rock or something. Didn't bother me too much but I guess it was enough that I'd try a different pant next time. Buy them and try them to see if it's an issue for you.
Also it would be nice if they had a clip belt built in like my wife's REI ones - these just have a drawstring. |

| Like another reviewer said these pants are really tight. If you plan on hiking 20 miles a day in them, I'd say order one size bigger or just walk naked. The length is perfect though.
I have other size Small merchandise from North Face which fits perfectly. But I'm exchanging the pants for a size Medium. Hopefully they'll fit better. |

| I have had these awhile and I love them. They seem
to be very durable and are extremely comfortable.
I use the zip off legs all the time when I get hot on hikes. They are very light and pack well. they dry incredibly fast also. I highly recommend these pants.

| These pants are well made, but not meant for someone with larger (cyclist) legs. I have a 33" waist and 31" inseam and found these pants way too tight in the legs. The waist fits and length are fine, but I'd recommend sizing up one size if you have well muscled legs. |

| I usually wear a size 32x30 pant. Although the length of the med short size was good, I felt it was just a bit too constricting around my thighs, almost like a pair of well fitting jeans. I had to opt for size large short |

| I returned them, to small, tried to exchange them, you did not have it avail. I ordered from someone else. You guys have been very dissapointing lately. Your inventory levels are inadequate. This is the 2nd time I was forced to order something from a competitor. You have always been my first choice when looking to buy an item, that may change soon.
