Huge improvement over the XCR 103   11-16-08
Dan Lombardi (6): rating
These are great, a huge improvement over their XCR 103's which I had issues with. North Face replaced them with these 104's and I absolutely love these. One feature I liked on the 103's was the front of the sneaker was very tough/hard, you could kick a rock and not feel it. These are a little softer, which is fine, but I liked the "steel-toe" effect that the 103's had. But I had so many issues with the 103's that I couldn't care less about the toe right now.

More of a hiker   11-12-08
Kyle Beck (20): rating
This is a great shoe. It has a stable wider foot base that is great for any obsticles. The shoes are tough and durable under any conditions. I would recomend these to anyone for a hiking shoe, but as far as trail running they might be great for some, but i would recomend something like coopers hill.

Great shoe   10-16-08
Johnny Mash (4): rating
I loved the shoe! Great feel and comfortable. I had to return mine because I got the wrong size. But I would highly recommend TNF shoes, I've loved every pair I've ever had.

Darn Tough Shoe   09-16-08
MatV (9): rating
I just took mine up Castle Peak in Colorado. I hit mud, loose boulders, snow, everything you can think of. My foot stayed warm the entire time (thanks Gore-Tex!) They're a little low cut if you're looking for some ankle support and when the snow got above the ankle rim, it got a little wet inside, but when I took them off at the summit, they dried super quick (10-15 minutes). Might be a little heavy for trail running, but great for backpacking and hiking!

Very Supportive    09-12-08
Keith Bryan Johnson (34): rating
This trail shoe rocks! The constructed outsole and midsole really takes this running shoe? into light-hiking territory. Everything that is said in the description is true. Very comfortable, the vivid color scheme with reflective markers - cool, and with one-of-a-kind colored lacing. The lacing is based on mountaineering boots and it also features the "catches" instead of the eyelets, so you will have to adjust them to get your desired fit. I would not suggest to wear these above the 70-degree mark, XCR gets warm. And the shoe-size is actually a little roomier - perhap compensating your selected socks, so I would also suggest, not to order a half-size down. Other than that, I think they're really worth buying - Just like the quote from ROBOCOP, "I'd buy that for a dollar!"
