Almost Good Enough!   11-09-07

I bought it, tried it on, thought about it for a couple of weeks and sent it back with the following concerns: 1. I am 5'8" and 150lbs. The fit was still a bit large for me, especially in the inseam. 2. There are no intenal suspenders. It would be nice to have these if you are taking a mid-day break at the resort lodge and want to peel off the top portion without shedding the entire suit. Not everyday is heli-skiing day! 3. The internal liner is cheap "thick" nylon which appears to inhibit the breathability of the suit. Would like to see a mesh liner. 4.The hood is not helmet compatible. It's nice to be able to pull the hood up to get some protection from the "heli-blast". The suit is a good idea but these issues were enough to stay with a two piece outfit.

suit up   11-21-07
sage cattabriga-alosa (7): rating
I used this suit almost every day last year. when I was hiking mildly like at rocky point I would just tie the arms around my waist and stay cool. it deff wasnt made for long backcountry treks but the vents were more than enough for cooling down at the resort. it has a nice baggy fit and I loved riding with minial layers on underneath. I would sometimes just ride with boxers and a tee shirt under and it felt so free.

Out of Proportion   11-30-07
abqcurtis (2): rating
I went with the large and hoped it would not be too long. When it arrived, I loved the way it looked--construction is good. However, not only were the pants too long, but the crotch was way too low. It might fit someone who is 6' 5", but I am 5' 11".

Strange Proportions   01-04-08

The quality was good, and I loved the way it fit my upper body and the features it had. If they made it with different inseams, perhaps it would be useful. As it is, the crotch went halfway down to my knees. Too bad they could not have designed it for a normal shaped body.

Bring back steep tech   07-03-08
podrazik100017411 (1): rating
I'm spoiled rotten by the steep tech snow suit I got back in 1994. This suit is no steep tech. The large totally bagged out on me. There was no way to cinch the suit on my body. The crotch was practically down to the knees. The medium kinda sorta fit my torso, but the pants were still way to big. The crotch was now only half way to the knees. Lack of zippers to ventilate. No cinching about the waist or torso. Basically a major devolution from the steep tech of 1994. North Face doesn't need to go back the drawing board. Just junk this design and bring back 1994--it still looks pretty cool.
