| I was skeptical, but the Apex Bionic came through. I wore it on my bike ride with temps around 40F today. I'm a huge wimp when it comes to the wind, and I have to say that even on downhills at 30+ mph, NO wind made it through this jacket! Yet I wasn't overheated. If you're looking to block the wind, this is the jacket for you! Plus, you can't go wrong with this sitethe price is right and my order was here in 2 days, even with free shipping! Outstanding. |

| I purchased this jacket two years ago and have recieved comments where I would go. Recently my jacket was damaged at a neighborhood bonfire. I discovered this site and found this exact jacket and made the purchase once again. Where ever I go with my new purchase I still get comments. | I wear this jacket everywhere and can't imagine not having it now. You can't feel the wind a bit. The only minor flaws I notice is that it does rise up in the front (not sure why). The arms are nice and long, which is great for people (like my sister) who complain that they can never find jackets to sit at their wrists without riding up what you raise your arms or extend them. Also, the zipper goes all the way up and under the neck, which give you a nice snuggly feeling. Lining is soft and super, super lightweight. I would recommend again and again. |

| The jacket is a great city jacket. As a gear-head and former outdoor store employee I have some issues with some of the tech parts: The zippers are small and flimsy for one. The version my wife purchased has a longer tail, which is good for keeping the back warm during windy days. This jackets should be used for mild weather and light rain. The XS fits like a S for my wife, long sleeves and long torso |

| Great light weight jacket. I believe it is true to size. I read another review that said it ran small so with that I ordered a larger size than I normally would have and it was too big. I returned the first one I ordered and then ordered one in my normal size and it fits perfectly. The next test will be to try it in the snow! |

| I bought this jacket in blue, and it is definitely a great jacket. However, the length in the front compared to the back is very dramatic (and bad looking) and is the main downfall of this jacket. I really don't like it! Also, generally I would get a small, but I thought I'd play it safe and got a medium, and that was a good choice. It seems to fit perfect with a tee shirt and also with layers on underneath. I'm on the track team at my university, and this jacket is great for cold and/or windy days because they arent so cold or windy anymore.

| This is a great jacket - looks good and would be great for jogging or layering. Unfortunately, I ordered a medium (my normal size). It was too tight, too short, and the sleeves were too fitted as well. I would recommend ordering a size larger than you typically wear. |

| I love my jacket, and I'm only kinda kidding about getting more than one. So far I have 2 (one black and one brownie brown). Overall, the sizing is generous so be careful about ordering up a size. One of my favorite things about these jackets is that lint and pet fur doesn't seem to be attracted or stick to them like they do to polar fleece. I love them. |

| This is a great jacket that is waterproof and keeps the wind out. I like the stylish fit better than the fleece jackets, but I'd get a size larger than you normally would. I'm 5'2" and 125lbs and have a medium. It fits well under another coat or down vest, but don't plan on wearing too much heavy under it. |

| Sleeves ARE really long. I'd prefer shorter sleeves, that makes the jacket easier to wear under another waterproof shell. I don't really like the fleece lining either. It makes it really hard to put on a polar fleece jacket underneath! It sticks and doesn't slide well. I'd also like bigger zipper pulls! Its hard to find them with a finger underneath layers. Forget gloves. Overall the jacket is good. I have not worn it alone yet. It has been butt cold here! |

| The jacket is a nice slim fit that hugs your figure, yet still maneuverable. The only thing I wasn't too crazy about is the difference in length in the front and back. The front almost feels likes a midrift while the back hovers over your buttocks. |

| Fabulous jacket. My first soft shell. Its minimal profile and maximum stretch make it great for high-movement activity and layering. I bought this to add to my backcountry/nordic arsenal, and it may replace my fleece jacket since it's less bulky for that purpose. This jacket layers well -- fit a base and fleece vest beneath and shell atop for a cold, windy day and I was toasty. And I wasn't too hot in milder conditions. |

| ...this jacket adapts with the temperature. It is rated a 4 because of breathability issues and the tiny zippers for the pockets, and there isn't a 4.5 rating. I wore it while hustling through the airport for 35 minutes and found out the jacket traps heat REALLY well.
I've also worn it in 22 degree F weather with a long sleeve shirt on underneath. No problems at all!
It really stops the wind, which I think is the best feature of the Apex Bionic Jacket! |

| Received my The North Face Apex bionic yesterday and wore it to a ball game. The rain just rolled right off, wind didn't bother me, and to top it off my hubby said it looked nice too. Can't wait to test it out on bike rides and camping.

| I might not be familiar with TNF fitting, but I ordered 2 TNF jackets and while the down XS fit me perfectly, the Apex Bionic XS had weird proportions. The sleeves were a good length but the upper arms were too roomy/bulky (maybe for bodybuilder arms!) and the front of the jacket was too short and barely came to the top of my pants. Good luck with the fit! |

| I love my bionic jacket. The brown trimmed with teal is very nice and goes with everything. I had to go down a size in order to get the fitted look I was after.So I wear a PS. I liked the weight so much,I had my daughter get me one in dark black trimmed in gray. The lining is so soft,warm and comfortable without being too bulky. Can't go wrong on this one. Enjoy!! |

| Not only is this jacket warm, but it also protects against the rain and wind. I live in Rural Alaska and the weather here is very unreliable. I enjoy being outside a lot and this jacket is great because I dont have to worry about bringing a wind breaker, rain jacket and heavy winter coat with me everywhere. The rain beads up and rolls off with out soaking the inner warm layer. This jacket is unlike any other I have ever worn, and I have been a North Face Jacket Fan for over 10 years. |

| I got this jacket my first winter living in Minnesota. Someone I worked with had the men's version and he said he could wear it without layers up to about -15 degrees.
I got mine in November and wore it all winter! Amazingly warm! Of course once the temps dropped below about -5 I layered it with another jacket over.
It is very windproof and waterproof.

| I got the jacket as a gift and it is awesome. It does really well in all types of weather. When it rains the jacket knows just the right way to keep the rain off, in the summer it doesn't get too hot and keeps the cool in. The jacket is really nice. I love the color too, it's quite beautiful (i got the blue sea foam color, not listed).
The only thing I don't really like is that I wish it came with a under armor type of thing. Like, a sweater in it that you could zip off. |

I was not sure about the color, I got the Moonlight Ivory; it is kind of a different color, but I love it, it stays cleaner for longer time than whites usually does.

Originally ordered this in a small thinking based on the reviews that it would be big enough, but I returned it ordering a medium so I could wear a sweatshirt underneath in cooler weather (and for reference, I'm a normal sized woman- 5'6" and 130). I like the pockets, the wrist warmer lining, and the slightly longer back. Back Country could not have been more helpful and friendly and helped me return it with zero problems. I recommend both the jacket and the company. I'll be ordering from them again. |

I needed it a size smaller than I would normally wear and the fit is perfect. One recommendation: although I love the white, it gets dirty VERY fast, but it does clean off easily! |

| I've bought several jackets, fleese, etc. and have never been as satisfied as I am with this jacket. I wore it golfing a few weeks back when it was about 45 degrees. I could swing easy with no constraints and also stayed warm enough to finish the round. I have no intension of climbing a mountain but will certainly where this jacket for all my other outdoor workouts and golf from fall to spring. |

It isn't the most flattering jacket, it doesn't hug my curves but I think it is a nice fit. It isn't baggie or anything like that. Great material and construction. And it is a great deal. |

| This jacket is great - it's warm and has a flattering fit, I like the longer sleeves, overall seems to fit true to size. I wear between a xs and s depending on brand and cut, and need an xs in this one. However, the front is too short for me. I have an average size torso but it fits right at my pants line and reveals my stomach if I even move my arms up a little, I prefer a little longer fit. Traded it in for a different brand with a longer fit. |

| I originally bought a size small in pink fever and wasn't impressed. It felt too small and I didn't end up liking the color on me. I immediately shipped it back and ordered a new one in snow white, size M. I ordered it at 5:30 at night and the jacket shipped that night. I got it in less than 3 business days...so fast when it says it takes 7-14 business days. I was very impressed and now am very happy with my jacket. It looks very stilish and will go with anything! |

Many said to order a size smaller than what you usually wear and since I wear both a small or medium depending on the brand, I ordered a small. I was so excited to get it based on all the great reviews but I was not impressed. I did not like the color and it felt too short and too small. I have exchanged it for a size medium in snow white so we will see how that turns out. I recommend ordering the size you usually wear, especially if you are going to wear a lot of layers underneath! |

| I recieved my jacket in the mail super fast--5 days free shipping-- but when i tried it in, i was very disappointed. it was very short and it was shaped as if i should have had a men's upper body. it was very triangular shaped. BUT- for a very short torso'd woman who has lots of curves up top, i recommend it. too bad it didn't fit me.. returning ASAP. |

I got it in the snow white. it's a pleasantly slight off-white. i heard the north face runs big, and that's pretty accurate, my usual xs isn't as fitted as i would prefer. i'm actually kinda swimming in it but i still really like it, comfy and not too long [i'm on the short side so that's often a problem, 5'4", 25" waist, 33" bust]. fit is a little boxy tho but not unflattering. slightly shorter in front but with low rise jeans that's gonna be hot. great fit through shoulder. just wishing this jacket was a little more fitted and cut more femininly, but still very happy with it :) good shipping time [did the free ship option] and had tracking all the way. awesome!!

I wish it was a bit longer so wind blwoing in all directions (even up) doesn't stand a chance to get in. The jacket was at my door step in less than 3 days, and PERFECT. I LOVE this jacket. Water beads off like it was never there, wind can't whip through even a fraction of it, AND it is a perfect, feminine fit. (I did order a size smaller than usual). | The reviews made me very comfortable with this purchase, but i was very very disappointed when I tried it on for the first time. I am average size, 5'5" about 125lbs (size 4ish) i got a size small and it is awkwardly a bit short for my taste in the front, comes slightly above the beltline. getting a larger size would have just been way too big around, it is not fitted around me at all. Needless to say, I wish it was much longer and leaner.
material is great but it is not cut for a real human being in my opinion. |

| That said, I will admit that CO weather in April can be anything. I wore this in temps ranging from 18
to 50 and was comfortable the whole time. Excellent wind and rain protection. I added a D-ring in one of the pockets for my lift ticket since the zippers are too small to use for this. The sleeves are long which I love. Even if you do not have long arms, the cuff is snug enough that it would not fall down over your hands. Fit through the back shoulders is not perfect, a little fuller than needed if you like a streamline fit, but I still like this enough that I am considering getting another color too. |

| I like this jacket and the way it fits, glad I didn't go a size smaller like advised. I'm petite and the only place it seems large is the sleeves, but that just helps keep my wrists warmer. I wanted something lightweight to wear in the winter while walking my dogs. I wore it yesterday in about 32 degrees and didn't feel as warm as I had wanted - even with a polar fleece underneath. I'd like to test it this morning, but it's only 14 degrees and I'd hate to find myself too cold to enjoy the walk. It's really nice looking! |

| My wife is always cold. I have purchased 5 or 6 soft shells for her, none of which actually kept her warm when we hit the slopes. This one out performs the others by 15 to 20 degrees and is far and away the most wind resistant. So ladies if you're always cold get this one for your base layer first and save your time and money. |

| I have had this jacket for almost 1 month now and love it! It was a great coat for traveling in the airports and one of the best windbreakers I have ever owned. I am 120 lb. 5' 9 and the medium is a little bit big in the body but I needed it for sleeve length. The excess room is easily consumed when layering with a sweatshirt or my Columbia zip up fleece. I purchased the Igneous purple and love the color.

| This is a great jacket BUT is does not fit the way the North Face description says it does. I ordered a medium - I am a 36B with hips around 39 but according to the size description, the chest is supposed to be up to 37 and the hips are supposed to be up to 39; however the chest actually measures up to 40 and the hips up to 42!!!!! If the description is that far off, how can you possibly order the right size the first time?? Bummer - so I have to send this one back and order a small and hopefully they will have one (but I still have to pay for shipping again - not a good thing....).. Oh, well, lesson learned! |

I found this to be a little on the short side in the XS, but it was too big around the torso and waist. It gapped at the bottom and was not sleek and flattering in my opinion. I think I'll like the jacket, but had to return it for smaller size: I'm 5'5" at 134# with bust size 38B and it was too large, especially across the chest. Further, the "snow white" color is depicted on the website as white jacket including white inside collar and cuff. However, "show white" is white jacket with gray inside collar & cuff; customer service tells me "white white" is white jacket with white collar & cuff and it appears the BackCountry website is incorrect on this feature. | Lightweight, warm, and comfortable on the plane and in the yard raking leaves. Bought it in white: dog drool, mud, and the filth from the console between the front seats of the car wash off no problem. (The car needs cleaning, though...) Turn the jacket inside out and it dries quickly just hanging up.
Waistband is same length all the way around. I tried the coat on at TNF store for size and that one had the longer back - looks funny.
Fit in a W's large is A-OK for my broad shoulders and long arms, but I wouldn't wear anything bulky under it. I usually end up in size 14/16 in women's coats to have a comfortable fit in the shoulders and long enough sleeves, with the rest of the coat too big. This fits very nicely all around - hurray.
Lots of compliments from strangers, so I guess it looks good, too. I love it. |

I ws surprised since the mens' apex bionic has the draw strings as does the womens' apex bionic triclimate (the exact same jacket with a pull out liner) Don't get this if you want a more form fitting jacket. |

So, one friend of mine usually wear size 10-12, Bionic size M makes pleats on the back and sleeves too long. Therefore you have to order size S. Torso is long as well. It's longer in the back than it is on the front. Which is fine if that's the way you like it. There is no cinch/toggles around the waist, as in the male version, no method to tighten the sleeves (as in the male version) and the fit is very odd, the XS was to short and the small was way to wide and still and little bit short. | This has got to be the best and the BEST-EST semi lightweight soft shell jacket out there. The fit is big enough to layer underneath it, yet not so big that you look like a puff ball. This is my fourth apex jacket and I would buy all the colors if I could or needed them. I do find the side pocket zippers hard to work especially zipping upwards (to close) after a few washings. The zipper pull tab on the pockets is very small and hard to grab with a thin glove/mitten. But this would NOT stop me from buying another way. Awesome Product! |

The jacket is a little larger then I had anticipated but I am a very small women (5'1" and 96lbs) so I'm used to it and tend to expect it. The jacket is warm and dry. I sat out in the rain watching a softball game and the water beaded up and rolled off without soaking in at all. These weren't just sprinkles either, it was raining. |

| My ski team recently purchased this jacket in bulk, and we have all gotten good use of them already. (The weather here in Vermont has been much cooler than usual.) It is has a nice fit, and is a good weight for everyday wear, in or outside. It should make a good cold weather workout jacket once the seasons turn again. My one complaint is that although the jacket is windproof, without cords to tighten the bottom, the wind comes right up and under when it's gusty. |

| Maybe I'm just too picky about clothes, but I didn't like the front length of the jacket. It's short- comes to just above the belt- and I found that agitating. If you prefer longer shirts/tops or have a lengthy torso, I wouldn't recommend the jacket. I'm returning mine, unfortunately.

| This jacket Rocks. I was looking for an extra layer to put under my Gore-tex coat when I was headed for Chicago in March. It got down to 25 degrees and I never felt the wind go through me which I would with the Gore-tex coat. On it's own this little jacket blocks the wind so that when it's around 50 degrees it's all I need. It really protects you and creates that barrier. The tapered length is a non-issue for me, some expressed they didn't like that and I was worried but it's totally flattering and natural looking. I got the black and it fits me great. It's so light. I am forever wearing fleeces but the wind will always go through. For real cold I didn't want to have to do like 5 layers again, lugging all that stuff around... so this is the only underlayer I need. I am not only happy with this purchase, I am thrilled. Can you tell? lol It has a great fabric/material, very high tech yet elegant looking and great fit. I researched softshells and other jackets for a month extensively and am glad I found the Apex. |

It is amazingly warm however there are a couple parts to it that I am not so fond of such as the pockets allow air to go through to the hands when it is zipped through the zipper. I love the color of the burnt orange it looks amazing with anything black or brown. I like the fact also that this jacket is smaller around the cuffs of the sleeves because then you can wear gloves with it and not let the cuffs interfere with the gloves. Great buy because it is so much cheaper than other The North Face gear. Love it! |

| This jacket is really great for the mild, windy, and damp winters in the South. I can see wearing the Apex Bionic Jacket from October to March. It blocks wind and repels light rain and collateral splashing. It's a great weight for being active on a chilly day. It's fairly slim-fitting, so I like wearing a long-sleeve thin hoodie underneath rather than a fleece or sweater. The long dip in back is great for biking, and the sleeves keep gusts of wind out at the wrist. This jacket seems to be cut to fit a taller person than me (5' 4"), so the sleeves are a little long, and they can't really be rolled back or pushed up the arm because of the stiffness of the fabric. A small issue, really. I get compliments on this jacket every time I wear it. Backcountry.com sells it at the lowest prices anywhere. I highly recommend it! |

The jacket blocks the wind and keeps me warm while allowing me the freedom to move. And, the design of having the tail longer is great - helps keep the draft out from back there! | This jacket looks and feels great. I haven't had an opportunity to test in cold weather yet, but the style is great. I love how it's a little longer and doesn't hug your hips. My only complaint is that the sleeves on the XL are very long. I was going to get them hemmed, but since the bottom is narrow, it works to just push them up a bit. The other thing that's a bit annoying is that the pockets zip up, rather then down, with a small pull piece. In spite of these 2 flaws for me, I love the jacket overall. |

| I got the Caldera Red, and it was a bit brighter red than expected (it is also lined in tan, not gray like in the picture). The material is great, it keeps you warm without being bulky and blocks a lot of the wind. It is also cut slightly lower in the back, so it doesn't ride up. The only bad thing about it is the sleeves. They start off pretty wide at the top (for movement) but end up very fitted at the cuff. The sleeves are long (which is good) but the extra layer of fleece that is the adjustable cuff makes it hard to wear the sleeve partially covering your hand. I would rather have thumb loops than have to push them up a little bit, resulting in a kind of puffy arm look. |

| I have had this jacket since late summer but only now I have been able to take it for a test drive. Temps have finally hit below 50 degrees and the Apex Bionic has made me happy camper. A little sprinkle this morning did not even phase this jacket, it beaded up and rolled off but I would say the this softshell would not take anything more than a sprinkle. After some shopping and driving around town this jacket actually got too warm. I would say this jacket would provide me with enough protection and warmth from 40 degrees down to 20 degrees easily anything above a windbreaker will do the job for me. The quality and fit and finish of this jacket is top rate, pockets a plenty, and I love the feel of the softshell. The thing about softshells is the fabric does not pill so it looks new all the time. Another North Face product to add to my collection and I have a feeling this might be usefull all winter when its not blistering cold. |

| The picture and color looks a little different from this jacket. I was disappointed in the beginning because of this. However, I still like the jacket a lot. The only thing I can complain about is that there is no elastic band to prevent wind coming in from the bottom. |

| I was pretty hesitant about buying a jacket online as I had never seen it in person, so I'd never tried it on. Fortunately, North Face's measurements are precise and the jacket fits very well. I think what makes this jacket so comfortable is the super soft lining that makes the jacket very cozy. |

| I love this jacket. I think I will buy another in a different color, even though the Syra Red is terrific. This jacket is perfect for Montana weather, which could be 80F one minute and snowing the next. The best part is that it sells for $30-$50 less than I've seen it in many retail stores and you get free shipping. Great place to buy a great jacket. |

| I just bought this jacket and I love it. Very nice looking and comfortable. Keeps you warm without the bulk. Only bad thing is it doesnt zip into my North Face winter shell. Otherwise, it is perfect. Also, I ordered the mens Apex shirt because womens didnt offer the classic red but the glaze red which is more of a glazed deep pink color. Get it and you wont regret it. I may buy another color. |

| I love this jacket! I've been wearing it constantly for the 2 or so months that I've had it. With a light sweater underneath it can double as a light winter jacket, and since the weather's been warmer I've also been wearing it outside when it's around 60 degrees. I never feel uncomfortable with the temp inside the jacket. I hope to be able to wear it snowboarding, although I haven't tried yet. It seems decently water resistant (although I wouldn't wear it in a rainstorm w/ no umbrella,) and it is definitely wind resistant. Yesterday I wore this while I rode on the back of my boyfriends motorcycle, and I could tell that the wind was tugging at the shoulders and arms of the jacket, but I didn't feel any wind going through the jacket at all!
I also like how it's longer in the back for when you sit down, and especially for the motorcycle. I bought the jacket a size too big (so I thought at first,) but now I am really glad that I didn't get the smaller size. The material stretches well, but the cuffs of the sleeves are a little too tight, so the bigger size fits nicely if you're going to wear long-sleeves underneath.
Be warned that the material seems a little rubbery when you first get the jacket, but that's what keeps it stretchy and water resistant... it will grow on you! Also, I thought that the ventilated pockets wouldn't be warm, but more often than not I'm glad that I have the ventilation.
The white color that I got looks great, although it's a little harder to keep clean. I was also able to see the red color, and it's more of a dark pinkish looking maroon than a red. Both the white and red and really pretty and can be worn with pretty much anything.

| This Apex Bionic(in black)is very stylish, thin and so warm! I went skiing up at Killington last weekend and this jacket kept me amazingly warm without a lot of bulk! It fits perfectly under a North Face shell. And it looked great going out to dinner with a pair of jeans! I also love the fact that the back of the jacket is a little bit longer than the front for extra warmth and coverage from bending over/moving around! With three children under the age of 4, this jacket is great for jumping in the car to go to preschool/shopping/casual dinner in cool weather. Strongly recommend this jacket!!! |

| Bought this for an X-mas girt for my girlfriend. Saw it $20 cheaper here at Backcountry. It is a really warm jacket that holds in the heat but still can open the zip a little if you get too warm. Fit is perfect and hugs to the body which is what a softshell should do. I have not been too impressed with TNF products in the last 2 yrs but this is good buy for the money...plus nice to see Backcountry offers free shipping over $50, I am tired of getting ripped off by high shipping charges with online stores. Thanks guys!!! |

It is great for layering- though the wrist is a bit snug when I wear a fleece under it. I am looking forward to using this as my softshell under other layers during winter in AK. | I absolutely love this jacket! It's great for our Wyoming fall weather. I agree with many of the other reviewers comments: sleeves are long enough - no need to order the next size up to make sure they fit, it looks great, and it's very warm without being super bulky. I also love that pet hair doesn't seem to stick to it and can be brushed off. |

| This is an awesome jacket. Without the bulk, it really keeps you warm. Sleeve is little tight (probably to keep wind out), so when in doubt, I'd order 1 size up. It's nice enough to wear in the city for a night out. |

| This is a very useful jacket to have around. You don't realize how important the windstopper is until you're not freezing due to wind chill. My only problem is that the TNF microfiber fleece leaves me with a feeling of static electricity, particularly if I'm wearing a vaporwick shirt or something light. Also white is not the best colour for dirt.... |

| The small fit okay but was too short in the front so I ended up getting the medium and that fits great with room for a thicker sweater, but still not bulky. The jacket is shorter in front + longer in the back (I'm 5'9 and usually wear size 4 or 6 tops). I can't wait to wear it this winter. |

| This is a disspointment from my favorite North Face line. I already own 4 other TNF products and this is the one in the back of my closet. It has an effective windstopping material with the apex fabric but the arms are very bulky and then slim down dramatically towards the wrists so you look lik you have very broad shoulders. Doesn't keep you warm at all in cold weather under 60 degrees F. Has a nice cut with it being longer in the back and higher in the front but i wouldn't recommend this if you want a streamlined windstopper jacket. I would go with the North Face Pamir for that-- a lot more expensive but you are getting way more with that jacket. |

| Love the material and color (bought mine in brownie a while ago). Only down side is that the cut of the jacket in front is so high it causes it to bulge outward slightly and is so short all my shirts underneath the jacket can be seen. I make sure to wear a warmer shirt otherwise there is a draft up the front. It doesn't look so obvious in the picture. |
