| Great Bag for a Great Price 10-23-09 |

| I purchased the XL in Red/Burnt Orange/Red. The bag is HUGE, but provides room for everything I need. The bag has very high quality construction and materials. I expect this will be the last bag I have to purchase for many years. (Unlike some of the other posts, mine did not come with the shoulder pad on the strap. Also, the coloring in the pictures are a bit bright, the red and orange on my bag are a deeper shade.) |

| I needed a bag to lug around a lot of binders, books, and my laptop all at the same time. This bag can fit it all and is really comfortable! It's a nice looking bag too and has many pockets and compartments to hold your small loose items. I like the fact that the bag is really big and open from the inside, you could fit a basketball inside of it! I place my laptop in a case and pile it inside the bag with all my other school stuff. Online chat with live staff was extremely helpful as they were the ones who pointed out this bag to me! Highly recommend this bag! Thanks. |

| This ended up being just the right size for a 10.1 netbook, mouse, power cord, a book, glasses, and a few other small items. It has become my favorite "trip to the coffee house" bag. Recommend for anyone looking for a well built, fun, long lasting netbook carrier. Not padded...but the addition of a neoprene sleeve for the netbook makes it worry free. |

| Very well built. Lives up to its reputation. Note: some pics show it with a shoulder strap pad, some show without. Mine is back/grey/black size small and it DID include the pad. I almost spent $15 to order one with it. I am glad that I didn't. Also the long hanging reflectors are removable and snap on and off. If you are thinking about it, buy it. You wont be disappointed. |

| When I got the bag I was a little overwhelmed by the size but I wear it everywhere I go now. It's amazing how much stuff I can fit in it and it's still comfortable. Great Price for a great bag.
The only thing that could be an improvement is a pocket for a U-lock. |

| Too many books 03-09-09 |

| The XL bag is great! It actually holds all the many books I need for an entire day. Previously, I was having to pack 2 or 3 and, even then, those canvas bags were falling apart. I've been using the bag for about a month and it is holding up well. There is plenty of room for 4 to 5 books plus a thick 3-ring binder and, when needed, extra clothes if I have to run to work from school. There are not a lot of organizational pockets... but, that's probably a good thing. I'd lose things that way. |

| Let me start by saying that I am a bit biased because I love Timbuk2 products. With that out of the way, I bought the XL in Gray-Dijon-Gray color scheme. The styling is great, as with virtually all Timbuk2 bags. I was somewhat apprehensive about getting the XL, because I didn't know if I'd need one that big, but now I am glad I did. It's difficult to describe just how much capacity this thing has. My 6-year old son can almost fit into it, and I'm pretty sure it would hold his weight as well, the design and construction are that solid. I am also a big fan of organizer pockets in my bag, to old all the little "greeblies" that we carry with us and keep them from rolling around in the bottom of the bag. Without the multi-pocket organizer on this bag, you would be forced to either go arm-deep or virtually dive into this bag to retrieve your lip balm or keys (are you getting that this bag is big yet?). The ballistic nylon material's water resistance is top notch in any situation other than total submersion. One minor drawback is that if you load this monster up, it becomes quite bulk and if you load it up with heavy items you may need a forklift to haul it around. But I have a feeling that this is what Timbuk2 had in mind when they designer her, Chewie. One thing I wish it had was an outside pocket--something I could access quickly for small items without having to open the entire flap. But this is a minor point. |

| I have the XL Classic and I love it. Frankly it's huge. I use it to get groceries on my bike and I can carry two filled-to-the-brim grocery bags in it. The two outer pockets (one with zipper and one without), the inner pockets and cell phone sleeve are all really useful.
The bag itself is very rugged. Crashed a couple times without any visible damage. Easy to clean after riding through mucky weather. If you plan on carrying any kind of serious load with the bag, get a shoulder pad. The strap is nice and wide which cuts down on chaffing, but if you fill up the L (had that one too) or the XL, you're going to need some extra padding. |

| I got the small to use as a purse because I always have extra stuff for school or for my kids I need to bring and I love the size. It has a great pocket on the side with multiple compartments and then a large one for everything else. I love using it on my bike and strongly recommend it! |

| Awesome and durable bag. I use it everyday for commuting and it holds the full change of clothes, lunch and any other materials I need to carry. The cross-strap is awesome for holding the bag in place and the reflector tabs are a nice touch as well. Pretty bulky when it is loaded up but still better than having to drive! (Bag also shipped lightning fast!) |

| I've had one of the XL for almost 10 years and have used it to go to work on my bike, to school, the laundromat, the supermarket, the garden and across the country. It still isn't wearing out completely but with such a good price, I could afford a fresh one in another color to lat me another 10 years. |

| I absolutely love my medium sized messenger bag. I'm a teacher and forever trying to find the right solution to haul my laptop, grading, lunch, etc. This bag is awesome.
I don't need all the little dividers to keep stuff straight because I hate how limiting they can be. I like the big open portion of the bag that holds soooo much. The small organizer on the side is perfect for finding my keys, cell phone etc. in a hurry.
I carried it in a downpour the other day and not one drop of water or any hint of moisture was found on the inside of my bag. None of my tests got soggy (always embarrassing to hand back to students) and my computer was dry as could be. Granted, I keep my Mac in a neoprene cover that is sized just for it.
Do get the extra padded strap though. I haul some serious weight in it and without the padding it hurt.
Timbuk2 is my brand for future bag purchases. |

| I picked up the XL messenger bag to use as a gym bag & am loving it after a few weeks.
It will hold my size 14 running shoes, a towel, workout clothes, water bottle, iPod, etc.
Quality is on par with my other Timbuk2 bag & I expect it to last for 7+ years of regular use.
For reference, my Timbuk2 Laptop Messenger has seen over 30,000 miles of commuting in all sorts of weather over the last 3 years on a motorcycle & is still in great condition. |

| i bought my (i think) large in 1995 and have been trying to get rid of it ever since. the colors aren't the best, and everybody and their grandma has one. but it just won't die and every time i try to get another backpack solution, it is immediately apparent that the T2 is a better pack. it's gone all over the country, i bike commute with it everyday, use it as a disc golf bag (way better than an actual disc golf bag) and recently it went to india, thailand, cambodia and laos and is *just* starting to come a little unstitched in one corner. it keeps out pouring rain and if you forget to close your travel mug, all your books and spare clothes will be covered with coffee, but your back will be dry. i only with i'd bought one a little later so i could have got all the exterior cell phone pockets and stuff they have now. |

| Where do I start? I use this for everything and I mean everything. Biking to work, not biking to work. I keep everything I need in this. Hell, I have even smuggled beer into stadiums in this (on the inside there is this space between the inner zipper pocket panel and the outside of the bag). Right now I have in my messenger bag: business cards, insurance and emergency information, sunglasses, jacket, coffee mug, deodorant, gum, extra shirt, cell phone, safety lights for biking, and some of those fake whitetrash teeth. |

| OK, so I'm not a bike messenger, but I do commute via two wheels. I got tired of my backpack sweating me out so I thought I'd give this a shot. The medium is too small, but the large is just right. I carry lunch, a fresh change of clothes, a packable rain jacket and pants, my running shoes, and gym clothes all with room to spare. The fit is nice and the bag stays put with the under arm cross strap. My ONLY gripe is the lack of an external pocket recently solved with Timbuk2's slider accessory case. It stores my cell, keys, and work access card. Now I can lock up my bike and get in the building without having to un-shoulder the bag. Very nice overall. It may also serve as a great helmet in the event of an earthquake...very durable. |

| The Great Indestructable Bag 02-06-08 |
Chad Schneider
(6):
|
| This bag is awesome. Even with just a flap cover, it's always been completely rain-proof through the most drenching downpours, and I've never waterproofed it. It's got plenty of room, doesn't get road-rash (unlike myself), and dirt seems to wash out pretty well. I use it for for bike commuting, and it's very comfortable and the chest-strap makes it very stable when weaving through city-traffic. It's also easy to access and adjust without taking it off your back. Make sure you get colors you LOVE because it will be around for decades. Mine is 12 years old, and it's almost as good as new. By the way, it's designed for right-handers, and although it's definitely usable for a lefty, adjustment of the main shoulder-strap is difficult/impossible. You can reverse the chest-strap-stabilizer, but Timbuk2 has to reverse the shoulder-strap-latch location, and you'd have to buy a custom bag direct to do that. |

| I purchased this bag solely to use as a metro commute bag for times when I'm waiting in the rain. I have had no problems with it and it keeps all of my work dry even in the rainiest weather. I'm also really excited to use the bag as a cooler as soon as our 9 months of Washington rain ceases. |

| As a Boy Scout Leader, I have to tote around tons of different things, ranging from award patches, to medical forms to sign up packages and leftover hoodies. You name it, I end up with it at one time or another. This bag has room for EVERYTHING. But, not only that, I'm constantly having to set the bag down on wet ground and nothing gets wet. Its survived rain, snow and soda showers. If the Scouts can dish it out, this bag seems to take it in stride. I LOVE IT !!! |

| Best Bag Ever 07-15-05 |
Re Wikstrom

|
| I think these bags could survive warfare! I've had mine for more years than I can remember, though I think it's somewhere around 5 or 6, if that gives you an idea for the durability and it really doesn't show ANY signs of falling apart. The first one I bought was the small, which I use almost every day, and then I got a larger one a couple years ago to transport my laptop and use for various larger needs. You could drop this thing in a puddle close to its height and as long as water didn't get in through the top everything would stay dry. Conversely, if you spilled your whole Nalgene bottle's worth of water inside, you could tip back your bag and drink it right out (not that you'd want to, but it makes it a lot easier to clean when you can dump things out instead of them getting soaked into the fabric). If I could give this more than 5 stars I would! |

| The bag was smaller than I expected. I also thought since it was supposed to be a messenger bag for using on a bicycle, that the straps would be configured to place the bag across the lower back- not the case. If you wear it there the strap chokes you. There was no strap pad, which would be horrible for cycling, as the nylon strap wpuld dig in. Finally, the ergonomics was completely wrong for a woman with the position of the straps across the..er..chest. Need I say more? |
