| Great MTB shoe 10-07-08 |

| Vibram sole and Gore-tex, what else could you ask for. So I don't wear these to work but only on the trail. They are extremely functional! Powerful on the up hill and don't make your toes numb on the down hill!
Pretty comfy to walk around in them also.
For the price you can't beat these mtb shoes! |

| Picked these up on sale and am pretty happy with them. They're really comfy off the bike which is nice. The shoe manages a very good balance of comfort while still having a nice stiff sole. Look wise they're not hideous, but they're not gorgeous either. Then again I'm more of a fan of simple boot look than the whole synthetic upper / sport sneaker thing. It'd be nice if these were available in more of a business casual boot look for the commuters this shoe really appeals to.
Be aware that these are SPD shoes so they won't work with Shimano's road bike pedals (SPD use 2 cleats in a horizontal configuration) - not a major concern just something to be aware of - the Shimano PD-A520 Sport SPD pedals are a good match here. |

| I bought these last year and I love them. Picked up a set of Shimano SPD pedals. They are the most comfortable bike shoes I've ever had for walking around, stiff but with a sole that makes doing steps easy.
They do run small. |

| I bought these through the outlet for $60 which seems like an outstanding price for a shoes that retailed at about $140. The fit is excellent and it is much easier to walk in these shoes than in my other Shimano SPD shoes. I am planning on using these as my shoe on an upcoming bike trip through Italy. They look better in person than on the website. The beefy vibram sole looks like it will last a lifetime. It is still a super stiff cycling shoes, so you will never confuse these with running shoes, but they strike a nice balance if you need to walk or hike for an hour or less. Anything more and I think one would be happier with something else.
Anyway, I am thrilled with the purchase. |

| I asked for cycling shoes for Christmas. But I got a GPS instead. So I have been carefully shopping for my most ideal shoe for about 4 months now and pedaling with these clipless things my used bike came with. So they are my first pair of SPD or cleat compatible shoes and I am very impressed with the efficiency and from what I read regarding shoes are: breath ability, yes, light weight, check and all around off road, on road friendly, yes yes yes. So Stoked can't wait to ride in the rain and tackle some mudd knowing the Gore Tex is asking for abuse. Thanks guys. |

| Are Shimano & Salomon in bed together? 03-14-09 |

| A previous review said buy a 1/2 size smaller and it was dead on. Now I remember buying a set of Salomon snow clogs a while back, and after a few back-and-fourths finally got the size right. Maybe it's the whole screwy metric vs. inch sizing issue, but yes get one size smaller. |

| Very pleased with these shoes. Picked them up on sale for commuting in Chicago, so being able to walk around in them was a must, and they fulfill that need 100%.
But it is freezing here, too, and wet, in winter, so keeping my feet warm and dry are also priorities. Well, these are awesome in that regard---it was near freezing this morning and my feet were sweating when I got to work. I will happily ride these on winter training rides!

| I am finicky when it comes to my bike shoes. This serves me well commuting in the rainy pacific north west. I have ridden in fairly heavy rain and my feet never got wet. The soles look tough and the shoes are comfortable.
Only thing is that, there has to be a better system than SPDs for commuting. SPDs have recessed cleat but they are too small IMO.

| Once I got the size right, I found these shoes to be extremely comfortable. I suppose while everything else seems to be shrinking with age, my feet are getting larger ... oh well. I had to do an exchange and that went smoothly ... my kudos to Backcountry.com. |

| Perfect Commute/Bar Shoe 10-19-08 |

| I got these for two things - commuting, and biking home from the bars. It's perfect on both fronts, unless you have to wear fancy shoes to either. They're great for riding, and comfortable enough to wear all day. I absolutely love these things. I'd suggest checking the sizing chart and getting 1/2 size smaller than your street shoe, as they'll stretch just a little bit. |
