These pants are very warm for their thickness(but you may still need some long underwear). Waterproofing is very good. the only problem that I have seen, if you can call it a problem, is that when I bend down to strap my boots they fill with air making them look like balloons, kinda funny, a tad annoying, but nothing that should keep you from buying a quality pant such as this.
