| The best helmet I have ever used. 01-07-09 |
Eric Tee
(5):
|
| First impression: Pretty tight and narrow.
When I tried it on, it seemed a little too tight, I got a Medium and I have lots of hair. But from previous experience with any helmet, your head magically shrinks a bit on the mountains. So they gave the best fit I can ever ask for.
The Hi-Fi is so incredibly light, I honestly can say that I didn't know it was on my head.
The ventilation did seem iffy at first, as it doesn't have vents in the front, but it kept my head aired and never overheated.
Bottomline: Best helmet you can ask for. |

| White Tie-Dye 12-07-08 |

| Almost forgot, if you're into purple, you'll love the White Tie-Dye. But if you ordered them expecting your earpads to be white and blue(like me), well, you might end up returning it(like me). I sent it back and got another in brown, which I actually like better than the tie-dye even if it had been blue instead of purple. Still five stars, cause it's still a sick helmet. Not its fault I didn't look closely at the picture. |

| this should be called the low rider helmet, it comes down to abot your eyebrows...im not compalaining tho, cuz that makes it fit good with lots of gogs. its incredibly light, of course. its a really huge helmet, the total opposite of low profile, which is fine, it bobs ur head around a little bit...the removable liner makes layering a beanie and gogs uderneath really easy, but its really warm withought a beanie. it looks great too, a little on the skiier side if you ask me but i love the look. fit awesome with large goggles with flat tops (vonzipper feenoms, smith prodigys, oakley crowbar, those are the specific ones i have tried with it and they all fit awesome)...but this does not work with small goggle with round tops!!!!! i cant wear my a frames with this at all, its a brutally bad fit, i dont care if thats what shawn white uses, it dont work im tellin ya!...besides that it perfect, strike that, its just perfect :-) |

| Lighter than you thought possible 12-07-08 |

| I cannot emphasize enough how insanely light this helmet is. I'd been wearing a Giro for a couple years before I picked this up, and when I first took it out of the box I could barely believe it. It's so light and comfortable you'll forget it's on your head before you're done clipping it on. If you're into havin' some tunes while you ride, I recommend getting the skullcandy subwoofer earpads to go with it, they put out some serious sound. |

| R.e.d. helmets are already by far my favorite, after trying on tons of different ones I went with a R.e.d. trace a few years back, but it was big and bulky and win i saw this hi-fi deal i snatched it up real quick. It fits so nice and looks great, especially since I'm rocking some anon goggles they fit together perfectly. If you want good looking gear to keep you safe thats not heavy or annoying go with a r.e.d. hi-fi. |

| Review Title 10-22-09 |

| I have been riding the Hi Fi helmet for 3 seasons now. I was hesitant to wear a helmet at first but now I feel naked without one. This helmet is supe light and I really don't even notice it's on. It has plenty of venting. In fact I am bald and I usually need a skullcap under my helmet on colder days cause it gets a little breezy. So those of you with hair should be just fine. My hat size is 7 1/4 and I wear a large in the Hi Fi. It fits perfectly. The detatchable ear covers are a must on warm spring days. This is a great feature. I would reccomend this to anyone. I am giving it only 4 stars though due to it being a bit high profile. It sticks up a bit making me feel somewhat like an astrounaut. |

| I just purchased this years hi fi and would like to outline the differences between this Hi-Fi II and previous years, I still love it and all the praise from my last review still applies
differences; Quick Clip II earpads have been updated, now are much easier to remove, much much easier. Brow of helmet does not come down so far, which makes it compatible with more, larger goggles. Fit is about a half size smaller, so if you are in between sizes or like to wear a beanie under, or like to put your goggle strap underneath the helmet, the order a size up! also the fit is narrower. besides that they weight the same and A frames still dont fit:-) |

| Hi-fi I, you will be missed! 04-03-09 |

| This year R.E.D decided to change the mold of the helmet, making the fit for me somewhat strange. I personally liked the Hi-Fi I better than the Hi-Fi II but they did add features to teh Hi-Fi II That the I did not have.
A lot of people were ripping the ears out of the Hi-Fi I so they made the ears removable. Overall the features they added make up for the Mold change but make sure this thing fits before heading out!
Either way it will protect your goods. |

| Not the Same as Hi-Fi 03-27-09 |

| What is pictured is actually the RED Hi-Fi II, which has slightly different construction and a slightly different shape. If you are ordering this expecting it to fit like your old Hi-Fi, you are probably going to have to return it. The old one fit me perfectly, this one gives me some pressure points. A helmet that fits like the old RED Hi-Fi is the Giro Shiv. Check it out.
You can tell the difference by the shape, number and style of the vents at the top of the helmet.
Otherwise, it's a light helmet that does the job well. |

| The helmet is really light that's for sure! But I found it to be a little "egg-head-ish" definitely not as low profile as I would like. Also the vents are always open. Not that I mind that much but there have been a few days where closing them has been nice on my current helmet. Lastly the goggle strap clip sucks! if your goggles come off your face and go behind your head, kiss them goodbye.... go look for them up mountain. I like clips that snap closed and will not let go of your goggles. |
