| This binding has been an enigma for me since 2002. I've gone through several pairs, and have given the older ones to friends who needed an upgrade.
The Good: The chassis is my favorite part of these bindings. Limited flex means direct transfer of movement from boot to board and vice versa. In short, there's no loss of movement. Pretty much bomb-proof, which is the main reason I keep coming back to Ride bindings.
The Ugly: My ankle strap hardware (nut and bolt on chassis (back foot) completely came out mid-run on my first day at Silverton last year. I am meticulous about keeping my gear tight and maintained. But the straps have always caused me grief, and this is on every pair I've owned. The plastic male part of the ankle strap interface wears out. I go through one of these on average once every 15-20 days or so. I'm guessing that it is the interface with the metal ratchets. (It used to be worse when Ride used plastic ratchets because then the teeth would straight up fall off) it's really frustrating because if I can't get my back foot dialed in right, it messes up my whole flow. I went ahead and purchased several of the backup male parts from Ride a year ago , and always carry a spare in my pocket or pack.
In short: I choose the EX each year because i know they fit, and the price is right - I am not rich, you know? The work well in every condition I go after. Just have to be prepared to do some frankenstein work after day 15 or so.I think this year I'll try a model higher, but still keeping it real with Ride. |

| They look good and are very adjustable but when I tried to attach the toe strap it wouldn't hold. I don't know if the threading was stripped (there were markings on the baseplates from a previous owner) or if it was just a defect. Looks like I'll have to find another pair. Pretty bummed to say the least. |

| Got these bindings about a month ago and slapped them on my board that night. Already made several trips to the mountain with them and I love them. Very versatile; first thing I did was take them apart and turned the straps around (I prefer the ratchet/release on the inside on both feet, easier to see and reach). adjusted the straps, tightened the screws and away I went. Easy to get in to and out of with gloves on, can even make adjustments with gloves. Toe lift is great (I have big feet...). Very solid bindings, I like the board to flex, not the bindings and these Rides are perfect for me. I've read some reviews where people said stuff fell off; I don't know what their talking about (Dude, tighten your screws, its called maintenance...), but I've had zero problems with these, and some great rides with them. Toe straps are great, go over the top or around the toes, very comfortable. I highly recommend them, great value for the price... |

| I was so stoked to try these out yesterday. They were great the first run-nice and tight, good feel. After my second run, though, I go to adjust the toe strap and The exact same thing happens as in Defective's problem. The thing just pops off. The threads got pretty stripped, and while I managed to finish off the day, I had to keep checking them every 30 seconds as I was riding to make sure the toe strap didn't come off. I'm going to exchange them tomorrow, and I hopefully won't have the same problem again. |

| So I'm half way through my second trip with these bindings and the top strap is missing when I go to lock in! Maybe I just got a bad set from the factory, but it was the exact same problem as the guy - "Defective!!" - had. Check that adjustment screw before you nail em down and head to the hill! Go with the RX bindings! |

| Nice construction. They're very durable. The toe straps are nice, i feel i have more control now. More metal components!! The heel and the mounting plate are both metal which is nice. My old bindings on my other two board have been plastic, which have been fine, but this is a nice touch. Good stuff! |

| good solid binding, only thing is make sure you tighten all the tool-less adjusters before you ride them cuz one of mine fell off while i was strapping in, and after inspection they were all loose. since i have tightened them i have had no problems. easy fix, no big deal. i would definitely recommend them |

| These bindings are soo sick! They are not too stiff and not too soft. They are really comfy and the convertible toe strap is the best thing ever invented! If you get these bindings you won't be disappointed! |

| DEFECTIVE! I took mine out for the first time today, and the front buckle screw popped off when I tightened it for the first time. That's like, 3 seconds into use! haha, what a joke. The part that popped off is the adjustable screw that locks the front strap.
I took the left front strap off, thinking I could at least get downhill with the left main strap, and both the right foot straps... until the exact same part on the right strap popped off too!!
The defect is that the screw threads get "dethreaded", and the screw popps out... Now that I've seen the 2 screws fall out, I looked at the binding... To my amazement, ALL of their locking mechanisms use the same mechanism. You got it, the screw. So there you have it.... a binding that's "totally screwed". |

| I had ridden Burton boards and bindings (rentals in Australia and New Zealand), and then bought these Ride bindings and an Option board. The response and control I've now got feels like a Porsche 911. My mate tried them too, and was astounded. These bindings are great, although a little small for my boots. There's a firm hold how they screw down to the board too. Only negative is when you unclip, it goes off with a crack. |
