| Nice Layer 12-08-09 |

| I have had this layer for almost a year now. This layer is relatively warm and compactable as advertised. I hesitate to call this layer a "coat" as it is not even warm enough to be worn alone during fall months in the northeast, but does make a nice layer under a waterproof and windproof shell. All in all a nice layer to have but not worth full price. Its just nothing special. |

| this is probably better advertised as a petite jacket. i'm a shade under 5'2" and the sleeves hit at wrist length, the elastic cuffs are at all too tight, and the darts/seams hit the right curves (this is a nice change. being short means that usually the waist hits at hip length). perhaps all the short arm/tight cuff reviews are from taller folks? but if you're petite, this jacket has a nice warmth to bulk ratio and is pretty spot on as a fall layer (it handles bay area fall nights just fine). |

| This jacket is super lightweight and I was very skeptical of it at first, but it's capabilities are amazing. It is so warm. Thus far I've only taken it around town, but I've been out on windy days that were in the 20s and it was as warm as some of my heavy winter jackets. The sleeve length is fine on me. The pockets are really big and lined, so they are extra warm. Fits true to size. I will be taking this winter camping with me. I love this jacket! |

| Saw this on steepandcheap.com and had to get it. I've been wanting a lightweight extra layer type jacket and this is a good alternative (esp. in terms of price) to the down sweater that I was originally eyeing. The sleeves are definitely a little short when you raise your arms up, but the elastic isn't too tight for me (got an XS). Since it isn't exactly backpacking season anymore, I've been using it as an extra layer under my snowboard shell and adds better warmth than just a hoodie. For the price on SAC, I can deal with the sleeves issue. |

| This jacket will be part of my winter layering set-up and spring/fall hiking/biking pack essentials. It is great for active wear in cold/cool weather but probably not for just standing around in below 40 temps.
I found that in doing the sleeve length test, they were short, but just hanging or regular activities, the sleeves hit my wrist bones. The jacket fits my frame nicely-long and fairly thin, and the color (Lava) is bright and bold, my style.
I would recommend this to a friend, especially if she can get it on SAC. |

| I was cautious to order but arm length is fine---Falls at the wrist and I am 5'2" 110 pounds with average arms. Price on SAC was great, quality good and weight is perfect...Nice! |

| I bought this jacket in the size XS and the color chocolate. I am happy with it. It is extremely lightweight, very soft and warm. I am 5'3" and 96lbs and it fits me just right, but I can see how the sleeves might be short on some people. They are just the right length on me, but they are certainly not long! |

| I purchased this jacket as a lightweight insulating layer for backpacking. The brown color was just what I was looking for, and it's really lightweight for the amount of warmth it provides. I backpack in the high Sierras, so this jacket is useful to me during the summer when nights at altitude are still quite chilly. I also used it during my last winter living in New York's Finger Lakes. I layered it under my Marmot fleece jacket on my morning walks to the bus stop in the winter, and it was excellent. The arms are short, but I have no complaints about the elastic being too tight. My wrists are pretty small, so although I'd be pleased for longer sleeves, I'm usually wearing a long-sleeved shirt underneath, so I just pull the sleeves on the shirts out and really don't notice the short arms. I find it to be very comfortable to wear. The collar is great--soft, and just the right height. I recommend this jacket. It has been a versatile piece for me for backpacking. I can leave other clothing behind knowing that this jacket will keep me warm all by itself. |

| I purchased this jacket despite the warnings about the short arm lengths because my arms are short. Guess what, this jacket makes my arms look long!
I can't imagine this working for anyone. I couldn't even bend mine at the elbow once inside this jacket. |

| If you have non-stub arms, this jacket will be annoying. I thought it would be fine, but after wearing it around a bit, the sleeves rode up practically to my elbows because the elastic was so tight, plus the shoulders fit pretty weird and didn't allow for that much movement. Reeeetuuuurrrrn |

| Notion - sweet, but semi-satisfactory sleeves 02-19-09 |

| Pretty sweet--bought this to be a warm layer for backpacking evenings and also under a ski shell. It's just the weight I was expecting, my only complaint is that the wrist elastic is kind of tight, and the sleeves aren't quite as long as I'd like. They aren't bad really, and I am quite tall and long-limbed so it's to be expected from time to time. Otherwise it is sweet, the lava color is fun, like fire-engine red. |
