Great shirt, but size down.   01-10-07
geardude (2): rating
I expected this shirt to be similar to my MHW and REI power stretch (PS) zip t’s. The fit is baggier, more of a casual/relaxed fit rather than athletic. I usually wear size large but ended up exchanging it for a Medium which still fits looser than my PS shirts, especially in the sleeves. The material is also different. My PS shirts are 60% polyester and 30% nylon whereas this shirt is opposite. It does appear to have a heavier nylon face which should prove to be more durable and wind resistant, but also has less polyester fleece inside so it may not be as insulating. Overall quality looks great, the shirt is comfortable, and the fit is good after sizing down.

Nice top!   03-31-08
Nurse Ben (15): rating
I bought this top as midweight layer to use when skinning and for cold days skiing with a shell. It is a nice mix of warmth, not a whole lot of wind resistance, but it breathes well for aerobic activities. Size is true in length of body and arms, chest is true, build quality is pretty good. A nice top on sale. Think 100 wt fleece with a tight weave, nylon facing, and four way stretch.

nice but snags easilly   10-02-08
SF hiker (3): rating
This fleece has a smooth face, but it's a very fine thread that snags easily so durability is an issue around bushes, rocks, etc. Other smooth face fleeces are a lot more durable.

I Like...   07-29-08

I wore this pullover fleece every day this winter...even into spring. Outdoor Research traditionally makes great stuff and this follows suit.

Super Comfy   07-14-08
JacketsKickA** (18): rating
Since receiving this in the mail about 2 weeks ago, I'm having trouble getting myself to take it off. Its one of the most comfortable clothing items I own. I am 6', 180 and bought the Large, which fits perfectly. It's not skin tight...more of a sweatshirt type fit that runs just a bit on the slim side. The material seems to be pretty high quality and looks like it will stand up to some abuse without abrasions.

Very nice, but...   06-23-08
Desert Backpacker (88): rating
This is a great piece, it's warm, breathable and weather resistant. The only downside is that it seems to be a bit short through the torso. By that I mean that it shows off my belly a little bit when I reach up high; I guess that's the price we pay for well articulated garments.

Versatile   03-18-08
Szu-Ping Lee (7): rating
The garment is stylish and comfy. The cut is larger than normal so you can move easily in this one. It's designed to be used as a layer so there's not much insulation. On 10 degree with wind chill day, I had to use it as the second base layer under a vest, another fleece and a softshell. I don't know if it's because of the nylon exterior or something else, but it smells a little after a couple of days. Other than that, a fine product if put to the right use.

Warm, stretchy, durable, comfortable   03-07-08
Nurse Ben (15): rating
I was looking for a good mid layer stretch fleece that wouldn't attract dog hair. I looked at the Specter Jacket and Specter Pullover. I chose the Specter pullover because it has a roomier fit, more room in the arms for wearing over a long sleeve shirt, and the weight to warmth ratio is fair for a layering piece. A nice top for the $, warmer than a Patagonia Zip T, but lighter than a wind-pro fleece, I'd consider it comparable to a 100 weight fleece, but more durable, and four way stretch. Fit is about right, I'm 6', 200#, large bones, long arms, medium torso length, wide shoulders, I wear an XL and it has enough room for a long sleeve underneath. As to the flat seams being a problem (see other reviews), flat seems are appropriate to this style of a top (athletic). I guess I'd be sure to not over stretch the top when putting it on, though from what I can see, the seems are well done and durable. A nice top.

Great Product, But Ignore the Sizing Issue   01-09-08
EastCoastIceGuy (1): rating
I got this fleece a couple weeks back and it rocks. My only contention is that I ordered it 1 size down based on other OR product reviews. Mistake. Lesson learned - order this in whatever size you would normally, as ordering 1 size down will make you look like a 70's diddler (I had to shave my mustache just to make up for it)

Versatile Layering Piece   03-03-07
j. shields (2): rating
Great layer. The slick nylon face sheds light rain and makes layering with fleece easy, i.e. no static and quick on and off in the sleeves. Breathes well, yet warm as 100-weight fleece, and a nice deep chest zipper for venting. A little pricey, but could take the place of several pieces of gear. Great for running, lounging, and hopefully skiing.

Some minor issues...   10-20-06
cwininger (1): rating
I have the previous version of this shirt. The PowerStretch is awesome, really warm. It's a great material. My only issue is the seam work. Flat lock seams feel nice but I think they are a bad choice for something as stretchy as powerstretch. I have already blown out two seams, one on the sleeve and one on the shoulder. This was due simply to the fabric stretching as I pulled it on. I just repaired them myself with needle and thread, but it's kind of sketchy for a $100 sweater. Otherwise love the styling and cut.
