| A-Frames (They have to be good, Shaun White wears 'em!) 10-24-08 |
Fur Finley
(26):

| First of all, these are Oakleys, so you can't go wrong. No fogging, great comfort, good quality, and of course good style. I own a pair of these and love them. The lens are crystal clear and you often forget you're wearing them. As for the lens tents, I have a persimmon lens which shows from the chart to allow 61% light through. These seem to be an all around tent for me. Even on the bright sunny days I can get by and the cloudy days work as well. I have an H.I. Yellow lens for cloudier days and night riding. Anything much darker than 61% would be tough on cloudy days, and anything that allows much more than 61% light would be an eye squinting experience on sunny days. To help those who are trying to decide between Crowbars, Wisdoms, and A-Frames hopefully I can help. First, the A-Frames tend to fit a medium to smaller face. They're definately the smallest of the three. Because of this they also have the least amount of peripherel vision when wearing them. However, if you're face is smaller you probably won't notice this anyways. The Crowbars and Wisdoms are made for the medium to larger faces. Both have a bigger field of view than the A-Frames but are slightly differently shaped. The Crowbars and A-frames have the typical goggle shape while the Wisdoms have more of a rounded shape towards the bottom. I find that the Crowbars fit tighter around your nose than the Wisdoms do. So if you have a bigger nose I would go with the Wisdoms. Either way, all three are great goggles, and better yet, if you order from here and they don't fit, you can send them back and change your order without any problem. These guys have GREAT customer service! |

| The Title Is Misleading - These Should Be Called the A+ Frame 10-26-09 |

| As was mentioned, one of the places to not shop by price is in your goggles (and in my opinion boots). I have owned Dragon DX's, Spy Zeds, and these Oakley A Frames. They by far take the cake. Having these on your face straight up makes your day better. I have NO problems with my peripheral vision, as almost everyone mentioned they look dope, and I have had almost 0 fog issues (any issues I had were due to me hiking the park and I sweat like an ape anyways - NO goggle stands a chance) If you are a long time rider you will definately appreciate these goggles because you know what sucky ones are like and if you are new to riding GET THESE even if you have to get a crappy color on sale because otherwise you will not enjoy your riding experience. Most other cheeper goggles will just fog up on you when you are going at learner speeds and spending 20 minutes strapping in to your binders and it gets frustrating. Trust me here new riders - form over steez with your goggles - its better to go to backcountryoutlet.com and get a crappy color A Frame for $50-$70 than WASTE money on another pair of cheep goggles. I own Black/Black Iridium (lots of protection for sunny days - wierd hue, but I love the mirror look) Military Khacki/Gold Iridium (perfect all around - no funky snow colors but no sweet mirror effect looking at me like the Black Iridiums have) and Teal/Persimmion (night riding and ok all around if you ride day and night and don't want to buy 3 pairs.) They also fit just fine with my Smith Holt helmet. |

| I love my Oakley A-Frame goggles! I got the text graphic with the HI Yellow lens, which works out pretty good for almost any lighting, even night skiing. They fit monster well into the Giro G10 MX helmet, and don't fog on me at all. I have even skied with glasses on under them, and they worked all right, not super well. All in all a monster goggle! |

| A classic still going strong 10-20-09 |
Sebastian Hansen
(7):
|
| The A-frame is durable, easy to use, great looking and with superior optics.
I got my first pair back in 98 or so and I still rock them on occasion. I got a couple of more now and they all have hold op amazingly well. The rubber band is still tight and the lenses have withstand travel to the alps, the norther pars of Norway, countless after skis and more.
The only real downside with the A-frame is it's constraints on the peripheral vision. The frame is a bit narrow and has a lot of bulk so when skiing switch or looking over your shoulder you might have problems. When snowboarding it's however never caused mentionable problems for me.
Bottom line: Durable with superior optics. Limits your peripheral vision. |

| But worth every penny. Great ventilation and sit well on my narrow face with plenty of room to spare. I had an issue with the Yellow Iridium lens fogging in between the lenses but Oakley sent a replacement within days. The Yellow Iridium was way to bright for my taste but Oakley was flexible and exchanged them for the Pink Iridium lens, which I love, I haven't experienced any more fogging. |

| These have been my go-to goggles for the past ten years. Fit my smaller face perfectly and go well with my Giro Fuse helmet. As mentioned else where, don't wipe the inside of the lens if they are wet or you will scratch them up (dab instead). Lots of options of lens choices for a wide range of conditions (my favs are HI Yellow, Persimmon and Black Iridium). |

| A+ for the A-Frame 11-19-09 |
Mark Medina
(1):
|
| Got mine in the Carbon Fiber/VR28. I love the VR28 lens and have owned two Oakley sunglasses with them. So it was only natural for me to get them for the A Frame. This goggle works! Fits great with no helmet and with one. I use it with my Giro G10 and it seems like they were made for each other. I recommend this combo if you are shopping for both. The optics like everybody below says are great and do not fog up. The VR28 warms everything up in your view and makes the scenery look even prettier. The lens also holds up well. I have not noticed any apparent scratches on mine and I've used them for several seasons. Highly recommended.

| Got these about a month ago, have not have been able to try them out yet due to no snow in WI yet but soon enough. I can say they are the most comfy goggles I have ever worn, and that means something since I spent time in the military and have worn several brands of goggles. Love the color selection and they are great quality. Looking forward to hitting the slopes with them in the next few weeks. A must have for the true snow man or women. |

| I picked these up for a steal on SAC last year because of the great price and the need for a good low light goggle. The High Intensity Persimmon lens works amazing in low light and white/grey-out conditions. These have been battle tested at Whistler Blackcomb and definitely saved my ass on Stefan's Chute in near whiteout conditions. |

| Picked these up last year off of SAC for a great price. My face is medium-ish, and I wear a medium helmet and they fit great. Comfortable gaggles, indeed! Seemed like anyone I was with always asked me "why arent your goggles fogging?" as they cleaned theirs off for the fifth time before lunch. I got the black iridium lens, which is a bit dark for my liking since I carve at night whenever I can, but it works great with nearly any light during the day. Definitely not a high end lens, but the A-frames are for sure with your money if you're looking for some great performance at a reasonable price. |

| I've used these goggle for years and they have never let me down. I have a very small face so if you are in this catagory then these are the goggle for you. I have the persimmon lenses. They are great for most anything. Sometimes on really sunny days above tree line they don't feel dark enough but it's tolerable. I'd also like to add that I was wearing these long before his highness Shawn White even existed. People, if it doesn't fit, don't buy it. In any case, Oakley makes a primo product in many sizes. They have fogged up on me once last season and it was because we had really wet snowy conditions. Don't let them sit on a wet hat or head for too long and always have a spare pair in your bag. |

| These goggles fit perfect even though I have a little bit of a wide face. Great field of vision, the venting works perfect and they haven't fogged on me once! (other than when i eat it hard and snow gets inside or clogs the vents). With dogfunk's sale, i was actually able to get two pairs (one with a black iridium lens for sunny days and one with a high intensity yellow lens for stormy days) for less than the price of the additional storm lens by itself at oakley.com |

| When I bough my helmet, I was very disappointed to see how badly it fit my Zeal Maniac goggles. Since then I bought and returned two pairs of goggles, and even went to a store with my helmet and tried a bunch of goggles there. Nothing fit right until this one. I bought this A frame after reading reviews that mentioned a good fit with the same helmet model. I can now testify that it actually fits my helmet well.
I haven't tried it skiing yet so I can't comment any further. I wish it had a buckle for easy on/off, but for what I paid (under $25) i can't complain too much :). |

| If you have a large face size forget about Oakley goggles 05-12-09 |
rob3083457

|
| A frame fits OK on the large face, but has a small lens size which blocks the downward view,
Crowbar has the nice view with a large lens, but is too small inside to fit on a man's large face, the same with Wisdom: large lens with a good view, but fits on small faces. Oakley has a big problem with the frame design.
What is great about Oakley is the Optics. They make the best optics, but I cannot find a good frame, which make the goggles useless.
I will go with Uvex. |

| Great Goggles, amazing optics, no surprise from Oakley...
I find these fit much better with a Giro Helmet than the Crowbars or Wisdoms. I tried both of those models and they were way too big to fit comfortably with my (M Men's) helmet. A frame was the way to go. |

| These goggles are amazing. They fit great. I wear a Smith Variant Brim helmet and they fit great with that. You barely notice they are there. The optics are really good, crisp and clear. I have two pair, one with black iridium for most days and H.I. Persimmon for those flat light days. Plus I like having two pair so when I take a nice fall into some pow I have a pair of dry goggles in my pocket. These do a great job not fogging up, but you get any goggle wet enough it's going to fog. So why not just have two. |

| The A-frames may be one of the most popular goggles and the market, and for good reason. No matter what size or shape face you have they seem to fit seamlessly. They have very good clarity regardless of what lens you have. The Persimmon lens is an amber tint that works well in pretty much every condition. There are only two issues I have with these. A) The lens although curved for better field of vision is a little on the small side, especially compared to competing Smith models. B) The venting on here is good, but not great. The vents can and do get clogged if it snowing heavily or if you are skiing in deeper snow, causing fog issues. |

The lens color is good (I think I got the prissimon something). They fit real good with the RED HI FI helmet... no gap between the helmet and the goggles. Anyway, overall, comfortable, sexy, great for the price. Get em! |

(15):
|
| Really, last season I had a pretty wicked face plant in the terrain park. I cracked a couple ribs. Had I not been wearing goggles, my nose would have been broken for sure. And I was stoked that the lenses didn't even scratch! You can spend more money on a goggle without the spherical lens, and trust me, you want a spherical lens. The optical clarity can't be matched since the lens follows the curvature of the eye more closely than a normal goggle lens. Before you buy any goggle, make sure you try them on with YOUR helmet, not just any helmet. I actually own 2 pair of the A-frames. One High-Intensity Yellow, the other Persimmon. |

| Finley already touched on the majority of the points I would have made. I just wanted to add that after owning these goggles for 4 years and wearing them a ton they are still in great shape and do not fog. I have these with the blue iridium lenses that are shown in the picture and they work great and look great for me here on the east coast. |

| These goggles are exactly what I wanted. They don't fog and are a perfect fit. The only thing is that the foam blocks your vision striaght down, but after wearing the goggles for about 5 minutes, you get completely used to it. I highly recommend these goggles. |
