Love this Coat. Perfect for mild days above 30F by itself. With a fleece underneath, I was comfortable (relatively speaking)in -10F temps. Waterproofing is excellent. Coat stayed dry after 2+ hours in heavy snow. It is a little snug across the chest, but movement is not restricted much. Wrist gaiters are great for keeping the sleeves down and the moisture out.

It's got all you need and nothing more, just the way I like it. There is an error on the description, the one I got DID/DOES have zip-in zippers for other Oakley softshell/fleece inserts. My Oakley "Soft Top" jacket zipped right in and adds an added warmth, when needed. Another nice touch is that the powder skirt has snaps to snap it out of the way when not in use (mostly). The magnet to keep the hood back is a good idea, but the power of the magnets is so weak that it seldom holds. The hand gaiters are very thin, so more for keeping moisture out than keeping your wrists warm. Overall a good jacket at a good price. I'm happy with it.

Perfect for snowboarding   04-02-08

I use this jacket for snowboarding and love it. It is warm enough on its own for warmer days (+25 or so). When I fist got it I put a fleece under it and it was too warm. The hood is very adjustable, which is nice. The wrist gaiters and the waist gaiter are a great feature. It is roomy without being bulky and the pockets are great.

Maybe it should be a 4.5, but I'm hyper-critical. Here's my super criticisms: If you zip a fleece liner into it, it bulks up huge, but it's definitely warm. Except it doesn't button or zip the cuffs into place, so they come out when you take it off. Plus, having a fleece liner inside, will then cover up the access to inside pockets. With no liner it's less bulky and you have the pocket access, but it still makes me look fat. I wish the outside pockets were a little farther forward, they seem to far back, and I have to hunt for them. But, I've never been cold, never been wet, never been told I have a stupid looking jacket or I look fat. I love the cuffs around my hand and thumb, love the waist gaiter, love all the bungee cords.. It's an awesome jacket

This jacket is sick. 10,000k waterproofing, it is like fort knox when it's raining. I shred local mountains from Vancouver, BC and I've only had to wear a base layer dri-fit from nike underneath. Oakley 4 the win.
