I've been riding mountain bikes for years. Finally a good pair of biking shorts! These are well-made, comfortable, and built to last. They do run big - had to buy a size smaller than usual.

My honey, Sam, loved the shorts the first few times that he wore them. He loved the look, fit and the padding. Then, the elastic loop inside the rear of the waistband broke. Seems like a really minor thing, but that loop was cinching the waist for him to prevent plumber's crack...to the alterations lady for repair. Otherwise, really comfortable and cool looking shorts. The vents and pockets are great.

Great short, better construction and chamois that previous version but sized much larger than previous version (a large in the prior version was small on me but an XL in this short is too big although there is a button on the waist inseam that takes about 2" out of the waist size). Vents and pockets have great zippers and the outside fabric is strong and stretches to fit while riding. A very comfortable short.

Oakley needs to learn to conform to their OWN sizing standards. Most Oakley goods fit as they should, but as a previous poster stated, these shorts are too large. I'm a size 30 waist, and the small fits like a 32. I'm continually tugging up on these things as I'm riding--which isn't always safe. They're decent for mountain-biking, but I can't really comment on the ventilation they added. It doesn't get in the way, but who puts vents at the waistline? When I'm biking, my shirts always go down past that point--mainly to compensate for the sagging pants >.> Otherwise, good shorts. I ordered ballistic 3.7 MTB shorts hoping they'd fit better (fingers crossed).

The ballistic shorts are my favorite to wear, both on the trail and in casual fashion. The cushioning is great. The only complaint I have about this product is the sizing--and I don't seem to be alone. If possibly, buy a size smaller... depending on the situation, they always seem like they're riding down, and there's no belt system for adjustment. I always fear that the flimsy spandex cord inside will eventually fray and leave me with shorts that just won't fit... I don't go biking without these things

I bought these after falling in love with the Oakley Alloy 2.6 shorts. Who knew Oakley made great cycling shorts? I ordered them in the same size as my Alloy 2.6 shorts, but was disappointed to discover that the Ballistic 2.6 runs larger than the Alloy. Closing with snaps, and lacking a belt loop, the waist sizing really needs to be spot on for these shorts to fit properly. If Oakley added elastic or a nylon web with cinch at the waist to allow for some variance in waist size, it'd be a good thing. The ventilation system is better than that of the Alloy 2.6, and the pockets are nice and roomy. If I can fix the sizing issue, they might become my favorite shorts! Finally, beware of all baggy shorts if you have a road bike with down tube shifters, or a large bike frame with a seat tube water bottle. I find they often catch the levers or the top of the bottle when pushing off from a stop.

i liked the Oakley MTB 3.6 shorts a ton, so i decided to try these. I bought the inka with no photo assuming it would be a dark blue (you know, like an ink pen or something) but they are very pale yellow) i don't know why Oakley would make mtb shorts in while or pale yellow, you're just gonna end up looking like you've soiled yourself. anyway, the difference in these shorts is the fabric is a little lighter than the MTB and also stretchy-ish. reminds me of a thin softshell fabric, which is comfy, and it sounds like it's been holding up for other. The other thing though, is that the chamois liner is attached to the shell unlike the button-in design of the MTB 3.6 which is a lot better for fit (these end up bunching on me cause i'm a girl and i have hips and junk in the trunk, so the free floating shell over the liner is way better than being attached and having to hang from the same place) and while i'm here, why is it so hard for anyone to make mountain bike shorts for girls that aren't patterned after daisy dukes?
