I've worn many of the Montrail line for trail running over the years. This shoe is perhaps the best cross-over shoe I've worn. It performs well on trails but it also works well when a street run is required. If you run to a trail or mix trails with road running this is a great shoe.

These shoes are really nice and comfortable, however they tore up on the first trail I took them on! When it says light trail running it definitely means it. These are made for extremely soft trails!!

I have been used to wearing the Masai, but got a new pair of the Odyssey. They are stiffer than the Masai which helps on rocky trail runs. They're very light and breathe well. I also like how the laces have friction through the loop holes, so that once you tie them in place, they don't get all loose. I usually wear an 8.5 and got an 8.5 in this shoe and feel that it fits true to size.

I ordered this shoe based off the review that it was a lightweight shoe....They are not really that lightweight... They are clunky and for a clunky shoe not too bad as far as lightweight... But if you want a lightweight shoe, this one is not for you. I like the shoe, but don't LOVE it... I have run in them and they seemed to do the trick.... hope this helps.
