Lovely :)   04-06-09

The jacket turned out to be a bit thicker and warmer than I had expected from the online description, yet it is light and suits my needs well. The product description omitted a few details: the jacket has 4 pockets (2 front, 1 sleeve, 1 internal chest). Though there isn’t a separate lining, the interior feels fleecy. The sleeve cuffs are adjustable with Velcro. Bottom edge is adjustable with an elastic cord. Fit: I ordered an XS in port/espresso. My chest size is 32B which snugly fills out this slim-fitting jacket. I wish the jacket were longer, but I am 5’6’’ and the XS was probably designed for shorter women. I get a little cool exposure when I flex my hips (sit, bend over) but that’s also partly from wearing low rise pants. The raglan sleeves are comfortable and allow for a wide range of movement. The sleeves are a good length for me, ending just below my wrists. Function: The jacket arrived just in time for a weekend in the mountains. I layered it under a down jacket and went snowshoeing on a snowy breezy day. It felt perfect! Around town I wear this jacket alone. For a one who gets cold easily, this compensates without adding bulk. It provides excellent protection against light wind and snowfall. I look forward to using it to climb.

Arc'teryx Slayer   02-26-09
Nicole Woltersdorf (55): rating
LOVE this softshell. It is fleece lined and thick, which keeps me nice and toasty. It also repels water really well for a softshell. I have to say I wear it a lot more than my Arc'teryx Gamma softshell, which is much thinner and wayyyy more expensive. I would recommend this Marmot over the Arc'teryx any day. Sizing wise this jacket runs a little small so keep that in mind.

Stylish, but long arms   02-01-09
Lauren (3): rating
I thought the jacket looked great. Sporty design, nice venting, and it came in at the waist to give it an athletic, yet feminine cut. However, the sleeves were way too long for me, a particular problem with the white/sierra color, since the material at the bottom of the sleeve is a snowy white that is already prone to getting dirty. Check the measurements and if it seems like the arm lengths are going to be way too long for you, they probably are.

Review Title   11-06-09

I have an older version of this jacket and love it. They do run a little small. I'm 5'2" and 150 so I have the large. It's a little long in the waist but not too long in the arms. Very warm and wind resistant. Use it for hiking and casual wear. I wore it snowboarding one day when I forgot my shell. Nice and toasty on a windy cold day. It is a bit heavy but it does keep you warm.

Functional & Attractive   07-06-09

Bought one for my mom & sister. They wear them everywhere, around town and out in the wild. Fabric feels extremely solid. Excellent functionality as a heavier-weight softshell.

snug   06-04-09

this jacket does run smaller. get 1 size up. I'm a 14, B cups and it is a little snug, but the sleaves are long for those tall ladies!

Heavy!   05-23-09
Mrs D (4): rating
I am 5 feet and 90 lbs and ordered the XS in black. This jacket is very heavy compared to TNF's Apex Bionic. It's also very tight across the chest, and I'm only a 34B! I tried another black in XS, and it fit exactly the same - very uncomfortable!

Awesome jacket, a bit short.   05-19-09
steph00632160633 (0): rating
This is a great jacket, I got mine about a month ago and wear it everywhere. It is surprisingly water resistant, the only issue is the jacket is a little short on me (I'm 5'8 and got the Med.)

Runs small (tight in the body)   03-10-09

I have an old Cloudveil women's softshell Large that fits me great, so I ordered the Large of this jacket and couldn't get it to zip over my chest. I do have DDs and find that women's gear is often not made for large breasted women. I am going to exchange for an XL and see if that fits.

Just got mine today!   01-30-09

I've been in the market for a softshell for a while, so I couldn't resist. The "Blue Sky/Celestial Blue" is prettier in person, but not quite the color my monitor portrayed. The both the light and dark blue are more teal in color, rather than bright/sky blue. I am 5'2", 115 lbs, average/fit build and the Small fits like a technical jacket should - fitted, with enough room for a long sleeved shirt and a thin baselayer... too much more than that and you might start to feel awkward (also, the bust may be a bit snug if you're larger than a 34 C). The jacket stops right at the top of my hips, which was similar to the 6 yr old Marmot fleece that it's replacing. The sleeves stop near the halfway point of my palms with my arms stretched out in front of me. This might be a teeny bit long for some and tells me that I can't go a size larger, but I could imagine it might be the perfect length for a taller person. As for performance, I haven't had a chance to test it out yet, but you'll hear back from me if it doesn't live up to expectations. I am definitely happy as is.

Gravity rocks   01-15-09

This is a phenomenal shoftshell. Keeps out the wind and rain (though I only recommend it in light precip), and keeps you warm. The fit is feminine and flattering and true to size. It's the perfect length for me. If you're really tall though, then this jacket may come up short on you. It's also very durable...I've used it camping, hiking, rockclimbing, and skiing with no problems whatsoever. Highly recommend!
