Best In the water   02-16-07
seanzican (11): rating
These shoes performed better than I ever expected. Climbing up wet rocks and jumping off cliffs, great while swimming. They're like flippers on your feet. superb when climbing out of the water up slippery rocks. I wish the soles had a bit more padding, but it makes up for it in swimming capability.

Awesome Canyoneering Shoes!   10-08-07
Teotwaki (8): rating
These shoes delivered grip and comfort by the bucket! I used them for the first time in Zion's Subway Slot Canyon. They gripped on wet and dry stone alike, down the loose approach trail, through streams and waterfalls. Only slimy green algae could defeat them so no surprise there. The shoes were on my feet for about 9 hours with no blisters, shin splints or discomfort at all. I wore regular socks on the approach and neoprene "warmers" in the water. A lot of bang for the buck and they don't look any worse after their first trip; no fraying or discoloring.

specialized shoe   04-29-09

Not an everyday shoe but are great if you use them for what they were built for. I compare it to a rock climbing shoe, you would never were them unless you were rock climbing. If you are going to do a lot of water hiking they are awesome but other then that not an everyday shoe. I have used them in escalate in some canyons and also in costa rica. worked good for both. I usually take them fishing when I am going to do a lot of wading because they stay on your foot so well and the rubber is grippy. bring some moleskin for the first hike.

Great shoe, bad strap   09-12-08
gwest439273 (4): rating
I bought these for an everything shoe: canyoneer, hike, ultimate frisbee, etc. The shoe fits my narrow foot well, the rubber is super sticky, and they drain very well. I've been on a couple hikes, a backpack trip, and one canyon. My one complaint is that after limited use, 2 of the plastic pieces that hold in the strap snapped. Seems like the plastic should be beefed up. Straps aren't needed unless in thick mud or strong current. Other than that the uppers seem really tough.

Awesome... if you have narrow feet!   09-25-07
Turtle 'n Tiger (4): rating
I tried two pairs of these shoes (44 & 45, I normally wear 44). Both times, I stuck to the canyons like no one else. Amazing traction. Great venting so my feet dried quickly. But dang, my feet HURT in these shoes and I don't have thaaat wide feet! These shoes are really narrow. So I agree with everything the other reviewers said, and now I'm hoping LaSportiva comes out with wider versions!

Canyoneering   06-05-07

I was torn between the 5.10 and the La Sportivas. I went with the La Sportivas and loved them. We did 2 Utah slot canyons in 2 days and the shoes exceeded my expectations. They were comfortable, excellent traction on wet slick rock and worked great in a little climb we had to do.

Exum Rivers rock!   06-12-06
Joe Braun (1): rating
Continuing the tradition of the Exum Ridges, these shoes are great for canyoneering. I had a chance to use them on several routes in the Zion National Park area. They did a great job making down climbs a bit easier, even on wet walls. I'd recommend these to anybody.

Don'tTrust Your Feet To This Shoe!!!!!!   01-07-09
sketcher542421577 (1): rating
Very VERY poorly constructed. Last separated along the front sides of each shoe immediately - I hadn't even taken them off the pavement yet! Awkward fit, poor support. Shoe doesn't seem to know if it's a hiking or trail running shoe, but it doesn't do either well at all. Thought maybe they would improve oover time, but no- they still suck after about 5 months. Have worn them on 6 milers up to 13 milers, feet hurt and were uncomfortable every time out. All of my mountaineering / backpacking shoes are LaSPortivas. I love the brand, but these shoes are cheap, poorly constructed, and not worth the money. Right now they're decent casual shoes and that's about it. Don't trust your feet to these shoes. Wouldn't have given them even one star, but the website made me choose at least that to post this reivew.
