Poor construction great rubber and fit 01-27-08

Trashed these shoes in short order in the Tetons. The rubber and the fit are great, but the construction is crap. Not worth any price if you're really going to use them.

I'm so pleased with these shoes, ordered the same size as my Mythos rock shoe and they fit like a glove. Great grip, support and feel. I don't feel like taking them off ! got them on sale here with free shipping, if only everything else in life went this well!

Honestly a friend had em and liked em and they looked good on him so I tried them on when scouting all the other major approach shoes. I find them to be quite snug yet well padded. I even went road running in them once when I didn't have my usual running shoes, and they were great. I wore them pretty hard for about a year, approaching and bouldering a bit but mostly hiking extensively in them (i know, the sticky rubber isn't meant for them to just be a hiking shoe but at the time they were all I had for 'work'). The stitching did eventually give out and the inside of the heel/ankle wore away but I'd say I beat the hell out of these shoes and they served me well. I even bought another pair right after that I am not using casually in order to preserve their 'approach shoe' worth. They are not very thin-soled like some approach shoes and yet make you feel very nimble and goat-like; sticky and good edges. Like all approach shoes I've seen/encountered, they aren't meant to last for years and years; that's just the way approach shoes are, from I can tell, if they are truly meant to also perform decently on rock.

Fit and rubber are great, but the seams down the sides ripped out in less than two weeks. Plus the insoles are thin and useless.

I really like the versatility of these shoes. I use them to hike, trail run, light climb, and just wear them casually. The sole is very grippy, and they are well made to last a long time.

If you ever have an idea to buy cirque pro so my advice is the next - better by some low-quality asian-made shoes for about $10 and be sure that they will serve you MUCH and MUCH longer than cirque pro!!! After a first use on approaching and scrambling route, the soles started de-laminating from antishock and more than half worn out... and I guess after a second use on half way I would need for another shoes to end my trip. The worst thing is I contacted with La Sportiva and it seems they don't care about their product's quality and the person's rights who choose their brand.

After 100's of shoes this is by far the most functional that I have ever "tested". This pair is my 3rd, that I bought as a backup should they no longer be available. They go from work to the rock perfectly and provide the support for all-day wear. They are also the longest lasting of any specialyt shoe I have owned. It will be a sad day when they are no longer available!

I did not see the poor construction issues others have brought up, I wore these in the Teton's climbing as well for 4 straight days and they held up fantastic. They are so comfortable, I use these as street shoes as well.

Great shoe for one weekend in the Tetons. By trip's end, they were blown out on the side and the sole was wearing off fast. La Sportiva usually does better than this with their products. Unfortunately, this shoe is a lemon.

The worst shoe I ever purchased. Fell apart after one trip... I spent two nights in the backcountry climbing four Sierra peaks and had to walk out pretty much barefoot. The company won't back up their product either

cirque pro are outstanding all-around shoes. hike very well and excellent on technical terrain. even used them for a couple of impromtu trail runs - expected my feet to take some serious punishment but to my surprise - not one blister in 12 miles of running and hiking. Great for long approaches to easy to moderate (eg low 5th class) climbs. only complaint - mine are ready for a resole after one season of weekend-warrior stuff in the rockies. the price you pay for sticky rubber? i'll take it.

three weeks in the desert with these shoes and every friction dot on the bottom had worn off, the stitching on the instep of both shoes blew out, and i wore a hole through the sole under the big toes.

These shoes fit like a charm. They have sticky soles for climbing. They're comfortable for the approach. They look good. The problem? They completely explode if you actually use them. Literally, they disintegrate with a week of using them in the mountains.

These shoes fit great out of the box. The tension lacing system, like that of the mythos works well up to a point. In the case of the mythos the laces really never see the elements like mud and wet so a complete comparison is likely to end there. After the shoes have been around a while the lace system gets a bit resistant to good toe tensioning suffering from dirty dry laces, solved only by washing. Not a huge complaint but washing is a drag. As those who own mythos can attest relacing is an undertaking involving medication. Lastly, the soles don't last terribly long considering that they aren't really even kind of as sticky as rock shoes. I recommend them highly as mountain bike shoes. Tim

Two climbing partners and I all used these shoes to do a long 3 day, 5 peak traverse in the crestones w/ lots of 5th class climbing. Shoes handleed perfectly on the rock. The shoes doubled up nicely for approach as well. Be aware.....this is not a shoe you want to wear everyday (even though they look sexy), as they will get trashed and be worthless. Great for pulling out for those long days on snowless moderate alpine routes.

Really like these shoes. Have only used them for a month but so far they're great. Have used them for light hiking and some bouldering at the Lost Horse area here in the Bitteroot Valley, MT. Really nice stickiness to the rubber and very stable. The fit is super snug and comfy. And not to forget, they look awesome!!

I wore through the rubber on the toe in less than ten days. I wore them for five days in Canyonlands and on a Class iv ascent in Zion and they were done. Great fit, super sticky sole but all in all I am disappointed how quick they blew out...

I thought these shoes were very well built but decided to return as they were a little too narrow, and built like a climbing shoe. I wanted a more traditional day hiker with better cushioning. If you are after a more tech shoe with full rand all the way around, and are ok with the narrow snug fit (and the looks that come with it) then this shoe will likely be a performer. Rubber was sticky and marking. I should have taken the line about blurring the line between rock and trail more seriously.

A good shoe, a good fit for my foot. I've worn a pair for several months now, I've climbed moderate routes in the Gunks and hiked Mt. Washington in them. The shoes balance the need for forefoot sensitivity needed in an approach shoe where one expects to make the occasional 5.5 move, yet still has enough forefoot cushion to make hiking comfortable. The shoe has a trim profile that places the toes right over the edge of the sole preventing sole flop when standing on an edge, the sticky rubber is a plus also. The style is simple with clean lines and a color that is soft on the eyes and reflects the environment they are in [--hey, remember the old Boulders with that pink `euro' coloring? Never would wear a pair of those because of the color.] I will probably get another pair of the Cirques just to keep as a spare when needed.
